[Guide] Install Catalina on the Dell Optiplex 7010 and 9010 Desktop PC

You can copy and paste the serials into the new config.plist to avoid this problem.

I tried this, but obviously something went wrong and since then I can’t get past ‘in memory panic stackshot succeeded’.

I will try a new usb later and try again.

I have now corrected the issue. Was a bad bios config, I forgot a setting.

Fully up and running now and copied my old plist. Also FaceTime, iMessage and Apple ID all works.

Small update; I purchased the FV-HB1200 BCM4360 BT4.0 - plugged it in today; Wifi and Bluetooth are working. Nice to have AirDrop now and my Apple keyboard and trackpad. Bluetooth didn't work straight away, it took another reboot to be recognised.

Many thanks TRS and others who have helped. This is a complete Hackintosh setup for me.

Hello, my CPU is e3-1220v2 and does not contain Intel hd graphics card, so I have a GTX650mini graphics card installed on my PC. It runs catlalina almost perfectly through the guidance of this article, but the e3-1220v2 seems to have no turbo. The highest frequency is only 3.1ghz, and there is no automatic dormancy (manual dormancy is normal). I tried to use ssdtPRGen. Sh to generate the corresponding ssdt.aml and put it into EFI/clover/acpi/patch, but this failed to start. The picture is the startup log. Thank you!

And the rear microphone port does not seem to work properly, the front microphone port works normally. The device is optiplex7010 sff.

I used translation to reply to your post, which may make the content of the reply not easy to understand. Or you think my question is too simple to reply.

The Mac mini system definition (6,1 or 6,2) doesn't account for the use of Xeon processors. It may not be possible to enable turbo boost using that.

As far as the rear microphone port, I've never used that myself as I have USB microphones. If you can use just the front mic, go with that option. I really have no time to figure out the pinouts for that rear mic currently. If someone wants to work on that, I'll add it to the guide.

Ok, thank you very much for your reply. I want to know why he will report an error after adding the SSDT generated by ssdtPRGen, and give up if Xeon is not compatible.

You could experiment with different system definitions and see if you can find one that works for your Xeon. Try out 13,2 or 14,2. Possibly even Mac Pro 6,1 since this is an Ivy bridge system.

Thanks @trs96 Followed this guide and works a treat, except I can't get IMessage or FaceTime working as of yet!.

A further note, as my 7010 USFF didn't come with a WIFI Card (Half PCIe) I salvaged an old Laptop one, Broadcom BCM943225HM and got it working by installing AirportBrcmFixup.kext from Clover Kexts.

Brilliant guide, my last build was a HP 8000 I'm sure you posted on the build too (finchyid), and this was just as smooth to get up and running as that was.
