Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming build with working NVRAM

I got my board updated. I can get to the installer starting "black screen with white Apple and the little gauge goes across", but, then the screen goes black using your Clover folder and using all fo your settings

The only thing different is I'm running a i9-9900KF and a 5700X T Sapphire Pulse.

Please try adding "agdpmod=pikera" argument to config.plist > Boot > Arguments.

I believe this is needed for the 5700 XT.

Yep man Perfect! worked like a champ!
This thing seems way snappier.
I need to take a closer look at your EFI stuff cause this thing boots WAY faster! like compared to my other i9-9900K.

Update: Everything working 100/100!

Update 2: Well Everything is working. Except if I let the thing sit and leave it be it will freezings up after about 10-15 minutes.
Any ideas? I have the sleep set to 1HR but I'm not getting anywhere near that before it just freezes up. I have to reset the system.

I have not experienced any of that with BIOS F9g. Have you tried disabling XMP and running without any overclocks on the RAM?

My experiences with two different sets of RAM on this motherboard:
Unstable - G.Skill 3400MHz RAM running at 3400MHz on i9-9900K.
Unstable - G.Skill 3400MHz RAM running at 3200MHz on i9-9900K.
Stable - G.Skill 3400MHz RAM running at 2133MHz on i9-9900K.
Stable - G.Skill 3400MHz RAM running at 3400MHz on i5-9400F.

Stable - Oloy 3200MHz RAM running at 3200MHz on i9-9900K.
Stable - Oloy 3200MHz RAM running at 3500MHz on i9-9900K.
Stable - Oloy 3200MHz RAM running at 3200MHz on i5-9400F.
Stable - Oloy 3200MHz RAM running at 3600MHz on i5-9400F.

It seems that on my particular i9-9900K, the Integrated Memory Controller is much more finicky than the IMC of my i5-9400F.

Actually it was Off and the VT-d was on so I now have it with both of those switch and XMP on and VT-d off. see if that helps will let you know. I have the sleep and screen saver functions off. if it is still no frozen in the morning when I get up I will bring ing them back online one at a time

I've never had to disable VT-d or VT-x on any of my builds.

I have a theory (aka wild guess out from left field) that it may be related to 5700 XT. I see lots of 5700 XT owners posting weird problems. I feel the drivers for that card are still quite buggy...

ugghhhh I hope that isn't the case. it seems like it is totally fine if I keep it busy and keep the mouse moving around but if I let it sit for about ~10minutes then it will just freeze up. I guess tomorrow I will try it with the Vega 64 and see how that works out. Gonna suck if I have to sell this thing and buy a used Vega 64 or something. Sucks that the Radeon VII are so damn expensive.

I'm quite certain that all the bugs with the Navi cards will get worked out. It's still quite early in the life cycle of the 5700 XT.

XMP memory disabled in BIOS and Clover?

Hi pastrychef,
thanks a lot for providing your EFI und DSDT - since without those i didn't manage to get the IGPU to work!

Everything works fine - except one weird thing:

- external USB hard-drives are not recognized
--> a 16 gb usb drive works fine on all ports
--> my 2- and 4-TB external drives don't show up, neither in Finder nor in Terminal (diskutil list) nor in "About my Mac"

Have you ever come across this issue?

Thanks again in advance,
Stefan
