I have the "low profile" Syba one with the TI chip and I used it in slot 3. It worked great for FW drives and my 003R.
I have a weird problem with my new gigabyte Z390 Designare EX with BIOS latest rev F6 using this PEX1394B3 card:
It does work fine with my core i9-9900k /16GB DDR43600 /GeForce GTX1060 when XMP is disabled, but when it is enabled ; I have a 'VGA' led error on the mobo at boot until I press manually reset.
Can anyone with a designare and this firewire card try this please?
I have a mobo H81M-HD3 socket LGA1150. I want to buy i firewire 400/800 card for my audio interface. Which firewire PCI card can i better buy?
There are speaks in this thread about TI card and unbranded cards which also working fine for audio solutions, but can we make finally take a decision about that?
I wanted to use my old MOTU audio express (FW 400) and after some research tried my luck with this card:

Interested in trying one, but couldn’t find that model in EU. Found a similar model, possible this one would work also?:
Syba SD-PEX30009
Be careful with that one if you're using it for audio interfaces. It mostly works out of the box, but it's giving me heaps of trouble with my 2x RME FW800 combo. The usual flashing lights, but weirdly alternating... pretty frustrating stuff. I've tried different cables and the power works fine, so it's definitely the card. If I ever find a solution, I'll post it here.Interested in trying one, but couldn’t find that model in EU. Found a similar model, possible this one would work also?:
