pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

Looks like you have an Asmedia USB controller which is not subject to the same limitations as Intel controllers.

That's for the USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports though isn't it? But that is interesting, these are the only two ports that are working. Does that mean none of the Clover USB Fix is even working?

Your image shows the Asmedia controller selected in Hackintool, what happens when you select the intel ?

Hello,
I had a good round of bad luck this time. FYI I am using Mojave.
1) I used the latest EFI folder with Clover and I couldn't have my mouse and keyboard working neither with APFS encryption nor with FileVault.
2) I then tried with Open Core and mouse and keyboard were working but the temperatures that were detected were not correct. It was like 85 degrees instead of 29 or 30 like I saw in the bios last time I checked. Also after copying clover from the usb stick to the efi partition on my internal hard drive I cannot get anymore in my motherboard BIOS. ^^
I will try resetting the motherboard BIOS when I have time.

I'd like to know what's wrong about Clover when encryption is active since the Apio fix and the keyboard fix are already in the EFI folder you provided.
Eventually in case I have actually no luck with Clover, I'd like to know if anything can be done with Open Core for the temperatures issue and if the problem with the motherboard repeats I'd like to know what I can do to avoid it (besides not using open core :) ).

Thank you in advance for your help.

P.S. the hardware specs are in my profile.

I will attach here the two efi folders I have used.
Regarding this issue I had, with the latest Open Core EFI Folder shared by @pastrychef, I had the same issue, but this time I have used Reset NVRAM and I was able to access the Bios again.
So if you have this issue, just reset the NVRAM.

Nothing changes when selecting either of the two controllers.
My bad - Just checked Hackintool and found it uses different coloured lines, the Asmedia controller was not selected.

Suggest you try the Hackintool USB 'info' button and make sure that you have followed the instructions correctly.

I followed the instructions, even tried using XHCI_unsupported.kext, but nothing changed.

Edit: I let my computer go to sleep and when I started it up again, all of my drives and usb ports were working. What?

The Asmedia controller does not show up on my GA Z370Aorus Gaming 5 under Hacintool. I mapped the ports and have as usb ssdt installed. When I set this up I did not have any usb c devices and read that the Asmedia controller did not count under the 15 port limit. Now that I'm trying to get it working I would like to know if there is a kext that I need to activate the Asmedia controller.

You shouldn't have to do anything for the ASMedia USB ports. macOS has built-in drivers for them.

In fact, you should make sure that you haven't installed any unnecessary USB kexts.
