Asus X299 - Support

I always forget the SN :(

So, i already deleted the ARPT. i hope i won't need it because I ordered a new WIFI/BT card:

What about the X299USB.kext? I plugged my iPhone on a USB 2.0 front port and the system lost the keyboard and trackpad connection.

Does your iphone appear under HS02? It looks like your bluetooth is on HS01. Try setting HS01/SS01 to 255 and HS02/SS02 to 0

For the X299 build and configuration, are you all loading (installing/loading) Clover only into the ESP? I can F8-boot to Clover (I made another EFI-only USB stick) but it presents three common scenarios:

No boot options showing only and enlarged "Beauty" Clover theme.

No boot options showing only and enlarged "Beauty" Clover theme when booting into a CC-Cloned-but-FileVaulted system with a new X299 EFI paved over it's EFI partition. -same story whether its a cloned 10.3.6 or a 10.14.6 volume. This includes known good volumes (unencrypted) from my previous build: A GA-Aorus Gaming 7 (Rev 1.0) with a i7 8700K.

A Mojave installer that starts with the black screen and white Apple logo, but freezes with the LED indicator going dark on the installer stick, forcing a manual shutdown via the powerswitch on the front of my Fractal Design R6.

I'm using a variant of @kgp's EFI folder with @AsEvil 's USB mapping for my mobo.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @jiffyslot :)

I modified a little my EFI (from Mojave), with minimum needed for your installation, so try this one and let us know ;)

The bluetooth device that appears on HS1 is a USB dongle for logitech keyboard i use. The USB3.0 front ports comes from the PCIe USB Card, and are not any HSx or SSPx. And everytime i plug something on them, the computer hangs. Is there a way to solve this? Should i connect the 20-pin internal PCIe to the NZXT Hub again? (Don't remember if before i had the same problem.

Which HS port is connected to your Bluetooth from your wifi/bt card?
you can try swapping the onboard usb 3 with the pci usb 3. If it doesn’t hang then you know it’s an issue with the pcie usb card. I didn’t have any issues with the pcie usb card but it might be picky with your devices. You could try the silverstone one I linked earlier.

It hangs if connected to motherboard or to the PCIe on any of the front panel USB 2.0. And this USBs are wired to the NZXT hub.

I can use the front panel USB3.0 without any problem: One is SSP1-HS1 and the other is SSP2-HS2.

So it seems the NZXT hub is wrong...

[Edit]

I've been doing more tests and:

- Front USB 3.0 are SSP1 and SSP2 (When connecting a USB3.0 Device)
- 4 x Back USB 3.0 are SSP3, SSP4, SSP5 and SSP6 (When connecting a USB3.0 Device)

- 1 x Back USB 3.0 (Near to USB-C) sometimes is HS2 and sometimes is HS4 (When connecting a USB3.0 Device) ????

If i plug any device on front USB 2.0 or PCIe Back USB 3.0 the computer hangs. ????

Do you think Is this a configuration problem?

If it's happening on both on intel and pci ports then it might be a config issue. I'm not sure... How about connecting directly from the 19 pin internal header to the front usb 2 ports? Are you connecting power to the NZXT hub?

I did what you said, and i connected the USB2.0 to the motherboard 20-pin (with the adaptor) and the 2.0 front ports worked good, but the 3.0 made hang the computer. :banghead: Must be a configuration problem as you said. I will wait for the new WIFI/BT PCI card and then i will do some more tests.

And yes, my NZXT hut is connected to the motherboard and to the PSU as well.

I know how to change the settings for HSx and SSPx, but what about to change settings for the ports which appears as XHCPIPort 02400000 (for example)?

yeah somethings not right... those don’t need to be modified only XHCI

Hello and thank you. The EFI allowed me to get to Mojave and/or Mojave Install; but it stops after the Random Seed error ++++++++ and reboots the machine.
