The everything works Asus Z390-I Gaming * i7-8700K * SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX Vega 64 Build

I see the problem... i clicked on the hyperlink created by the forum "IGPU-EFI.zip " instead of downloading the attachment. Sorry. I ll give it a try later at home.

Awesome tutorial... my Hackintosh is performing well with your help. Just one issue... my monitor doesn't wake up after sleep. I Just use the iGPU and one monitor connected to HDMI. I could not find any fix for this. Any suggestions?

Hi guys,

I plugged in the i9 processor, but I was disappointed to see my Geekbench results, they don't get even close to the results of the guide. What am I doing wrong?

I guess u are using Geekbench 5 instead of Geekbench 4... :]

The rating in Version 5 is much different.

I am not at my computer right now but just google: update 970 EVO Plus, and I found an iso file which I put on USB via a program called Etcher. Start your computer. Press f8 and select the freshly constructed USB. It updates the firmware.

The link for IGPU-EFI.zip doesn't work anymore... is it possible to upload this again? Thanks

I tried to upload them but the system doesn't seem to be accepting them. Worse still, I deleted the betas! Whats weird is I attached some files a few minutes ago. I will try again tomorrow.

Edit: No idea what happened but I finally got it done!

Hello and thank you so much for your post explaining everything in detail. :headbang:

I'm a long time Mac user currently owning several MacBook Pros. I do astrophotography, and I need more power than any of my MacBooks can provide.
I have created a nice Numbers document listing all the components and their price in the different online shops.

What I would like to know: Are there any variations of the components that are also compatible and proven to work the same way?
Can the i7-8700K be swapped with a i7-9700K?
Can I use the G.SKill Trident Z RGB 32GB Kit?

Thank you and greetings from Germany,
Dominik

Can the i7-8700K be swapped with a i7-9700K?
I'm using the i7-9700K in my build without (major) issues :)
I have two minor issues, one might be related to the CPU since it might have to do with the internal GPU. But until I have the DGPU in place i'm not spending any time looking into why it behaves that way.

Explain us what issues u had with the iGPU... i use an old 8400 and it works flawless exept one little thing which may not be an issue from the iGPU.

When i send my hack into sleep, everything is just fine (dont forget to deactivate the POWERNAP function in the macOS settings...).
I can wake up my mac by simpliy press one single button on keyboard or mouse, the fans start up immediately, but the screen stays black. I have to press many times ESC and SHIFT/CONTROL/DEL to get to the login screen. Thats the only issue so far. Has anyone an idea?
