[Success] ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming-ITX + TB3 + iGPU + Mojave + SFF Build

Nope, I also changed now to AptioMemoryFix, not because I had problems, but I trust @rj510 in this matter more.
Well, @rj510, do you also have the problem with eject USB drives after sleep ?

/edit
I also added my final config.plist would be nice if you could check it and say that's its now correct. (Kexts are still the same)

(You should replace this file with one that has your serial number removed by the way)

hey there @rj510, and thank you so much for your dedication on this thread.

I ordered parts from your suggestions, and it's been 2 days i'm struggling, not being able to pass the "boot from install mojave usb key". In fact, I got the exact same problem as @danielcarmona, stuck at either "vm swap subsystem is on" or less frequently "load_init_program: attempting to load /sbin/launchd"

And I unfortunately don't have a usb to m.2 adapter, but I have done a handfull of hackintoshes with usb sticks, with no problems whatsoever, at least not that frustrating.

here is my config :
9700k
2x G.skill DDR4 2133 16G
ASRock Z390 Ph-Gam ITX
WD black nvme SSD 500Go
mojave 14.5.02
and a sapphire nitro+ vega 64 (i tried everything with and without it, with bios setups accordingly, but no differences)

I tried every flavor of your bios setup, rechecked hundred times, coping exactly the EFI folder you provided, generated multiple SNs, switching virtualisation on and off, switching RAM sticks, switching m.2 slots, switching usb ports to boot from the key, ps2 and usb keyboards, fakeSMC instead of Virtual SMC, multiple version of clover, I even tried other EFI folders from the linked thread you, and the other on this thread were talking about. I mean, I generaly don't post because informations are always there, but I don't have any trick in my sleeves anymore, and yes, I read the 35 pages of this thread meticulously.

The only wierd stuff I can find but not able to tweak are some non-matching frequency number on the OC tweaking part of the bios. but that must be related to my 9700k. I'm attaching a picture of it. Also, when it get stucked, My opt cpu fan gets a little crazy.

Tell me what info you need to help me. I'm really dedicated to solve this problem so I can run into other issues :)

(You should remove SN from uploaded config files.)

I don't see a method for limiting kexts in the Clover config file. Are you using USBPorts method?

Can you show me your drivers64uefi, kexts/other and acpi/patched folder contents (jpg image okay).

Until I get a system working, I don't overclock anything. Use default (stock) settings until stable boot.

Hey @rj510, thank you for the reply.

About overclocking, I didn't change any setting in OC at first, but I thought maybe it could help since the frequencies are lower than stock settings. But I don't know much about OC. That's good to know.

The content of these folder are exactly how it is on you first post download. I just edited the config.plist as you said on danielcarmona's answer. Pic attached.

I'm not sure to understand what you mean by "limiting kext". Could you be more specific?

EDIT : So, I tried 10.14.4, 14.6, tried with a sata SSD formated in APFS, disabling virtualisation, disabling igpu monitor, tried various USBPort limit fixes, for both version of the OS, tried on the usb2 port of the motherboard, exact same result. Stuck on :

load_init_program: attempting to load /sbin/launchd
VM Swap Subsystem is ON

also tried -x on boot, but kernel panic, obviously. pic attached.

I then tried to install windows 10, but the installer told me "media driver missing". Could that be an hint? maybe a motherboard hardware issue?

thanks a lot for helping.

For "limiting kext" issue, see Spoilers on first post for USBPorts.

Your folders look fine.

When you get repeated problems booting, it's best to re-flash BIOS (and then re-do your BIOS settings). You may have a corrupted BIOS.

Try booting from a different USB port, use a USB 3 port. Some kernel panics can be due to a corrupted Clover boot drive, so you may have to re-do the boot EFI drive (I'd replace the folder first).

I just successfully used a new Memory Manager for the Z390 Designare build. (I will test the Z390 ASRock ITX tomorrow.) See these posts here and here for more details. Basically, it replaces AptioMemoryFix.

If anyone tries it before me, let us know how it works.

EDIT: 8/8/19

It is now being reported (by mm2margaret) that the 'Clover Developers' simply re-labelled OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000 asMemoryFix. I am therefore removing the download.

Amazoning. Will it support native NVRAM?

Hello dear @rj510,

So I obviously didn't write down everything I tried, because I tried flashing the 1.6 BIOS already 2 or 3 times. I also tried booting from every USB port, even the USB2 adapter onboard that I needed to get an old pc front IO to get working. And the EFI drive, well, I think I did more that 10 UniBeast, replacing the EFI folder, remake the changes for SN (that's why I didn't care too much about publishing them) and all.

About that UsbPort limiting kext, I read that spoiler, but you say that you've made the change for that specific MB in the kext's info.plist that is downloadable in the EFI folder you provide in your first post, so I thought nothing was there to change. Do I need to do something to the config.plist?

BUT, I managed to install Windows 10 (with a USB stick made with Windows media maker) with much trouble by resetting the BIOS one more time, and I get a bunch of weird error. Sometimes my keyboard and mouse don't work, even in PS2, and I can't install any driver, even from the ASRock website. Even worse, the Bluetooth adapter driver page says that Windows has stopped the periferical because it had issues...

So I think more and more that it's an MB hardware issue. What do you think?

Try resetting BIOS to factory defaults using the CMOS button on the motherboard.

After that, the default settings of Windows 10 should install without problems. If you still get errors, then your motherboard or RAM is defective. There simply cannot be another option, that is, the hackintosh and clover are certainly not to blame for this.

Hey SergDrakus. Thank you for your interest.

As a matter of fact, that's exactly what I did (CMOS). I did that, restored the default bios value in the bios to be sure, then installed windows with much trouble like I said in my last post.

I'm currently running an extensive RAM test right know to check if it is in fact and for sure, a MB issue. I'm currently at the end of the second pass of 4, and no error has been detected. I already bought a second Asroch PH-Ga ITX/ac that will be at my house on saturday.

thanks again.
