Either way will work. Personally I prefer the clean install method, especially if going from Lion to El Capitan. If you were to clean install El Cap you can simply follow the legacy install guide and use your HD3000 graphics to keep things simple.Is it better to upgrade on my existing OS X ? or erase drives, clean install and recover data with time machine?
