[Guide] HP ProBook/EliteBook/Zbook using Clover UEFI hotpatch

@cyrentix just to confirm: As it was recommended in RehabMan's guide, I had downloaded HIS versions of each of those kexts. Are these kexts also NOT to be used, or these kext are still the ones recommended?
You can use everything from him except clover.

finished succesfully the installation of Mojave on my HP Probook 450 G5 with Clover now installed and booting from the HD.
Now will take a look at what works and what doesn't. I can already see there's no sound, will be checking all else, as well as doing a GeekBench test for reference

That type of behavior is normal. It's usually due to the VESA driver of Clover conflicting with macOS's bootup sequence. Best thing to do to help reduce the severity is to set your BIOS to UEFI Boot Mode with CSM-Hybrid mode enabled and make sure the conflig.plist has the Resolution set to 1024x768.

@alanmac27 were you able to fix this? I am having the same displaced apple screen on boot(no huge deal, but ugly) and as you know, I have the same HP Probook 450 G5 as you . Of the 3 display options that this model was sold with, I have the one with the shittiest display panel, the HD 1366x768 one:thumbdown

I was trying to follow @Krazy-Killa 's recommendation, I looked in my config.plist and resolution is set as 1024x768, however in my BIOS I cannot seem to find which setting would set it to "Boot Mode with CSM-Hybrid mode enabled"

First thanks for the awesome tutorial, I managed to install it and made almost everything work. The only thing I still have to figure it out is why the function keys does not work and how to change the serial number because I did not really understand how to.

But thanks again for your great tutorial Rehabman ;) you gave my Elitebook 820 G2 a great purpose again.

Hi!

How did you installed it? After inserting the card, my ProBook 430 G5 won't boot anymore (hangs on Apple logo). Did you installed all the kexts before?
Can you please provide some link where you managed to find Yosemite's IO80211Family.kext?

Thank you!

EDIT!
Did you have any problems with the card as written here?
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...-stable-currently-testing-new-methods.265130/

I can't remember where I got the Yosemite kext file. It was on one of the forum threads here. I searched through my bookmarks without success. I was going to post a link but I see it is the same one you added in your edit. He mentions attaching files but they are not in the first post; maybe in another post?

I did not have trouble booting. I occasionally get a kernel panic (well, the laptop restarts by itself) but that could be dur to anything else (audio, power control, ...). I had tried taping over the pins that are used for sleep, but it turned out to be unnecessary once I found that kext.WiFi works perfectly. Bluetooth also works but it does not connect automatically to my mouse (my MacBook Air does).

The Yosemite kext has to replace one in /S/L/E. All other kexts I put in the EFI (Clover/kexts/other).

Hello"

My automatic boot in Clover does now boot automatically. The line "Automatic boot…" flickers repeatedly (not fully sure if it is every timeout/waiting time), but not boot progresses.

Any ideas?

Why is Windows still showing? Did I forget to do anything? Will this be a problem?

Maybe there is still a Windows entry in config.plist > root > GUI > Custom > Entries.
The original plist used to have one (due to their author having a Windows partition?).

thanks @sharkoon I already got rid of windows, following what cyrentix wisely suggested in his previous reply:
You have to create a new partition table in order to get rid of everything preinstalled. So, before installing, in disk utility: -> in the left upper menu -> show all devices -> select your drive -> erase -> choose GUID-Partitiontable and APFS -> erase.
