I miss the purpose of installing the special build, before this post I just changed the SMBIOS to 19,1, adding -no_compat_check to clover, without any boot from recovery and everything is working just fine, I think I will remove -no_compact_check when 10.14.5 will be released. Is there any downside in keeping the -no_compat_check flag for a while?

Anyway the boot is exactly the same, no visible advantages up to know but as the cpu is closer to mine (9600k) I will keep it.
I'm really happy about this build, never had a hackintosh so well made :), the only thing is not working now is the fan sensor, I don't see any fan speed in istat menu or hwmonitor, but I see all the temperatures, cpu gpu etc..

I added sensors to VirtualSMC and the code was merged. You will need to build it yourself, easiest way is using Hackitools.

My fans work perfect.

Hi ModMike, thanks for the guide within the guide! With the special build do you notice any performance improvement? I think you were going to rerun Geekbench at some point. Again thanks for all your hard work and posting the results.

That’s an excellent and valid question. In my case, Geekbench is a bit irrelevant for now because I lost my overclocking settings in the great BIOS update debacle.

My guess, and from what I’ve heard, is there will be no difference. Some people are reporting vague CPU improvements to i9 profiles but I saw nothing conclusive. The one verifiable improvement comes in the full native support of AMD RX-580 GPUs and their fan curves.

I never ran GPU benchmarks so I have nothing to compare against. That being said, I noticed that my DGPU fans ramp up like it should instead of coming on full blast and then shutting off.

That being said, I don’t use that many DGPU intensive applications so I am not the best judge.

In the end I would say you need to research the feedback and see if there are any concrete advantages other than having better profiles for your Z390 chipset, CPU, and DGPU.

Hopefully some more experienced users will chime in and let us know what improvements they found.

I know it may seem like a lot of work from the guide, but in reality it’s an easy update all done from the comfort of your internal storage. No installers or USB drive requirements.

Stick to the DW1560. I haven’t heard of it being hard to find and it’s a perfect fit. Anything else and you give up the RF shield. Any bigger and no VRM heatsink.

I'll post pic how I figured out the heatsink problem. :)

I reset CMOS and clean install...... still getting black screen any helps....? I really need this hackintosh build
