The everything works Asus Z390-I Gaming * i7-8700K * SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX Vega 64 Build

Hi all, I was wondering if I could have some help.

Parts are the following:
ASUS Z390-I
Intel i9-9900K
Samsung 970 EVO 2TB
Saphire Nitro RX 580 8GB

I followed the instructions and cannot even get to the install screen, progress bar goes to full and hangs. When running in verbose, I get to the following line:

Creating ramdisk for /var/log

Can anyone help me?

@ModMike I've been following your thread for a while now.

I've never done a hackintosh before so I was looking through the Golden and User build trying to lean on past expierences. Seeing I wanted to do a build with a STRIX Z390-i Gaming as well - for a compacter system - your build caught my attention.

I've now bought myself some parts already and am still waiting on some to arrive - like the wifi/bt card from China :beachball::p

Here is my list:
- ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-i Gaming
- Corsair SF600 Powersupply
- Intel i5-8600K
- Noctua NH-L9x65
- Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 580
- Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 32 GB (2x16 GB) DDR4-3000
- Samsung 970 EVO 1TB for mac
- Samsung 970 EVO 500GB for Windows
- DW1560 BCM94352Z Wifi/BT

The bigger difference with your build and mine are the CPU and the GPU.
As I don't think the i5 CPU is going to be a big issue I'm more concerned about the Nitro+ Version of my GPU.
The reason behind getting the Nitro+ instead of the Pulse was just because the Nitro+ was 45 Dollar cheaper...

Hence (finally) the questions:
Can I follow your instructions to the letter and the Nitro+ should work OOB just like your Pulse?
Are there other obstacles because of differences in our build components?

Again I've never done a build and don't just yet get all the talk going on in this forum (like EFI/kext/etc..)
I was already sweeting bullets taking off the heatshield and dismantling the wifi/bt chip hoping not to break anything...
So I'm sorry in advance for prehaps repeating already asked questions.

Cheers,

Dutchmann

Did that.
Says there is a problem.

Edit: And Yes. I registered Apple ID with Gmail.
Edit: I have registered the Apple ID first time in my life. Never have owned an Apple device of any sorts prior to this.

Your build is good to go. The Nitro+ cards are OK! I'm using an 590 Nitro + SE with no problem.

Can I already start the build and install with the WiFi/BT chip being out of the mainboard, or should I wait to have a complete system and then install...?

if you wait for the W/BT card only you're OK Don't start the install without a CPU or RAM. :)

We have had dozens of reports of perfect installs, and I'll be here so no need to sweat. If you've done this before, disregard everything you think you know, my guide is literally incompatible with traditional methods. If you stick to the guide and not try to "improve" on the process by using what you see in other guides, you will probably have a super smooth install. WiFi is a 50/50 crapshoot depending on which order the drivers load but don't worry, it's a 5-minute fix if you have the issue.

Frankly, I'm curious to see if someone doing a clean install will have it. Where did you get your DW1560?

You can wait but understand it's deep in the guts of the board and means a complete teardown.

Just my opinion, but dont buy vega now, i think they will release a new vega sometime, or buy radeon VII, dunno, for me its just the same as 580/590 https://www.techradar.com/news/amd-navi

Yes but the Vega 64 can be had relatively cheap if you can find a used one. I also don't care if it comes to from a miner, that's just not an issue, for me anyway.

I do agree the VII is the way to go, especially if you are a creative type. Performance may not be up to par with the flagship Nvidia for gaming but the huge memory bandwidth kills it in production tasks.
