@pastrychef 2 users with RX-560 are reporting graphics UI issues when using external USB hard drives formatted by OSX. Can this be an issue with the USB SSDT?

I doubt it. I don't see what USB has to do with graphics... I'll test on my RX 560 a little later. I'm just taking a short break from Breath of the Wild.

Okay. I just copied a few gigabytes of data from USB drive to USB drive. No issues here.

@pastrychef The 560 people are having a hell of a time, no idea why. I really appreciate you going the extra mile, I'm trying to play it forward, but it seems like I am creating more work for you rather than helping.

Another issue I need to clarify: When installing with UniBeast, is it supposed to copy Clover to the EFI portion automatically? It seems like the EFI portion is always empty and the folder needs to be copied manually from USB for some reason.

What kind of graphics issues are the RX 560 users having?

I don't understand what you are asking about UniBeast. UniBeast should only be used for creating the USB installer. It doesn't do anything to your main system drive. It creates a very basic EFI folder on the EFI partition of the USB installer only.

@pastrychef I know that but then how does Clover get copied to the system drive's EFI partition?

It depends on which method you are using and/or which guide you are following.
  • Users can use MultiBeast to create an EFI on the main system drive.
  • Users can manually copy an EFI folder to the EFI partition of the main system drive.

@pastrychef I took your advice and moved all kexts into other. You are right, it is much cleaner and makes installs drop in EFI compatible. So much easier! For some reason my system response seems much snappier, no idea why that would be.
I am also running nearly patch free except for these
392563

which is no big deal. When I tried each one individually but it seems like all 3 have to be enabled otherwise a reboot causes a post error. You can easily get out by just rebooting.

The big problem is that somewhere along the way I broke sleep. Here are the steps I took to fix:

  1. Reverted back to know working EFI and kext locations -> No effect
  2. I had to renter my serial number and reconnect to iCloud which can supposedly affect sleep. I fit F11 at clover to reset NVRAM -> No effect
  3. I deleted all the com.apple.PowerManagement.plist entries in Library preferences -> No effect
  4. Deleted nvram.plist in EFI -> No effect
Some other info:
  • Sleep works in that it turns of the Monitor and Hard drive, but computer and fans still stay on.
  • Auto sleep kicks in but same as above
  • My nvram.plist always shows date modified as being in the future. Ex: Tomorrow
Any ideas, tips, or tricks?

Edit: Solved!

Entering the command sudo pmset -g revealed what was the last process that prevented sleep. I was already suspecting that it was somehow related to iCloud. The other oddity was that my nvram.plist was showing a future creation date, which was very odd.

I signed out of iCloud, deleted the device in my iCloud account, logged back in, and voila! I also checked the nvram.plist creation date in my refi partition and it had a proper creation date.

Sleep now works perfectly.
