pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

me too... i was wondering if they will be a sapphire version of Vega 48. Back when Vega 56 & 64 was launched it was first on the iMac Pro, a long time before seeing card from amd, etc. Also it seems that the Radeon VII is not coming soon (maybe in the future modular mac pro lol)

Yeah, my guess is that they will reserve the Radeon VII for the iMac Pros. If we are lucky, maybe Apple will throw us a bone and add Radeon VII support for eGPU.

I think that the readings are from the FakeSMC sensors. Maybe switching to VirtualSMC can help.
Having trouble finding a compiled VirtualSMC kext. Is there a link?

The iMac Pro has a new video card option, a Vega 64X. It seems this is a 7nm Vega 64. Sounds very enticing....

I just saw that (Vega 64X)....hmmm......I do hope that is the Vega VII......cause I have one on order.....

On another note, did you ever do a post/guide on your Dell 3450? I've have been thinking about trying a Dell OSX hack....was it really difficult?

I don't think it's the same as the Radeon VII. I think it's the older Vega 64 on 7nm instead of 14nm. That should mean much better thermals and power consumption.

The primary reason why I chose Vega 56 over Vega 64 was because of TDP, so this is something I'm very interested in...

Do you mean my Dell Latitude 3450? Yes. Just click on "Dell Latitude 345" in my signature below. Lol

Edit:
Upon further reading, it appears this is Vega 20 so it may very well be a closer relative to Radeon VII than Vega.

Hi there, do I need to modify anything for running a Vega 64 and/or dual Vega 64? Highly appreciated, thanks!
