Maybe, but it sounds like I'm wasting my time trying to install from a 64GB USB 3 flash drive. I'm going down to get a smaller USB 2 and try that.
the guide recommends usb2.0 stick

Will do, but first things first. After successfully creating a new boot drive with UniBeast on a usb 2 drive, I used the same settings as before and got stopped at the "RandomSeed", as have so many others. See attached. Is there a specific post that might help me with this?

Symptom of possible wrong or missing memory fix driver in /EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI/.

Most people only need :
ApfsDriverLoader-64.efi (or apfs.efi)
AptioMemoryFix-64.efi
FSInject-64.efi
HFSPlus.efi (or vboxhfs-64-efi)

On the EFI partition of your USB installer (and later the EFI partition of your hard drive).
The EFI partition must be mounted before you can see it.
You can do this with an App such as EFIMounter.
You can install drivers with the Clover installer.

So, I'm guessing this all has to happen on my Mac, correct?

Where else can it happen ?

BTW Be extremely cautious with Hackintosh tools on a real Mac, a mistake can brick it.
Double check that you have selected the correct target location before you install anything.
