Following your High Sierra instructions, I was able to download the operating system on my MacBook Pro (based on another website's helpful link to the installer file: https://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/mac-software/install-macos-pc-3632329/), which then immediately launched the installer. Instead of continuing with the installer, I ran UniBeast. When I got the screen to choose the High Sierra operating system I got a message that the installer was not completed and that I had to delete that version and download it again. After doing this twice, I tried letting the installer run with the intention of quitting the installer before the re-boot. Unfortunately, it rebooted anyway and I'm now waiting about a hour for it to finish the installation. None of this is covered in your instructions, such as where on Apple's website do I find the correct file to download, or how to get the complete installation file without actually installing the operating system again. Perhaps Apple is trying very hard to void your instructions by making it very difficult to download a complete operating system file... I don't know. But I think your instructions could use some updating.

I was following that thread when the installer refused to "quit" and instead went ahead and rebooted the computer. Now I'm waiting for it to finish the installation to see if I still have a installation usable file for UniBeast.

OK. Got the UniBeast to complete the USB creation process. Changed my BIOS per instructions. Now stuck at the Clover configuration. The first attempt with no Clover changes just hung at the Apple logo. Next I checked the "USB Ownership" and "USB injection" boxes in PCI devices. That resulted in the circle with the line through it. Any suggestions?

Search for "still waiting for root device".
Thanks for your quick responses. Well, there's an awful lot of those in my search, but I may have made some progress. After checking the two usb boxes in Clover and changing the OS to 10.13.6, I now see the apple logo and a progress bar - which now seems to be stuck at about 10%. How long should I be waiting for this to load? By nature, as you may have noticed, I'm not the most patient guy. :(

You are wasting your time if you don't boot in verbose mode.

Maybe, but it sounds like I'm wasting my time trying to install from a 64GB USB 3 flash drive. I'm going down to get a smaller USB 2 and try that.
