Hi,

First of all, sorry for my bad English; not my mother language.

I have just finished installing my new Hackintosh and everything seems to work great. But I have an annoying problem and can not solve it.

Although computer works great, shutdowns with no problem, and starts up smoothly, each time computer restarts, I get the alert: “Your computer was restarted because of a problem”. This is the log (part of it, full log attached):

Code:

0xffffff83a0fb3f00 : 0xffffff800566a377

Darwin Kernel Version 17.3.0: Thu Nov 9 18:09:22 PST 2017; root:xnu-4570.31.3~1/RELEASE_X86_64

As far as I know, and after searching the forum I think this is related to GPUSensors 1737 (v 6.25) does not support my pascal Gigabyte 1080 Windforce. But what I do not understand is I have not installed GPUSensors. I do not know if FakeSMC has this inside, but that is the only Kext installed related to hardware sensors.

Anyway, after reading the forum I think that FakeSMC and FakeSMCPlugins v6.26 supports pascal graphics cards. So, I did a new fresh installation, and I checked that Multibeast had FakeSMC & FakeSMCPlugins v 6.26. I also checked that EFI partition on USB installation disk had FakeSMC kext v 6.26 in the Clover/kexts/other folder. But after installation, on the firs reboot, the same alert.

I have also tried a new fresh installation, this time installing only FakeSMC v 6.26 (no FakeSMCPlugins), but again the alert is back. I have also copied manually FakeSMC and FakeSMCPlugins in the EFI partition of the HDD, in Clove/kexts/other folder to be sure that these are the kexts that load, but again the same alert on every startup; and I think kexts are loaded with the right versions:

Code:
kextstat | grep org
   16 4 0xffffff7f80d28000 0x12000 0x12000 org.netkas.driver.FakeSMC (1765) 9EEC6103-EEBA-34B3-B9AF-8FE333C43E90 <11 7 5 4 3 1>
   87 0 0xffffff7f80ea8000 0x8000 0x8000 org.hwsensors.driver.ACPISensors (1765) FA4DF6C0-0D3A-3CE2-8569-0AB2C84053E7 <16 11 7 5 4 3>
   95 0 0xffffff7f80d3e000 0x5000 0x5000 org.hwsensors.driver.CPUSensors (1765) AB5DE333-8AC8-3549-86E5-C5647AACA61F <16 7 5 4 3>
  103 0 0xffffff7f80fd7000 0xe000 0xe000 org.hwsensors.driver.LPCSensors (1765) 93417250-FFB4-39DA-8B25-F164DE72E120 <16 12 11 7 5 4 3>
  114 0 0xffffff7f80d45000 0x12000 0x12000 org.hwsensors.driver.GPUSensors (1765) 714EA7DC-0CED-3374-AC08-B1D6EC33D53B <16 12 11 7 5 4 3>

The log of the kernel panic includes the following:

Code:
Kernel Extensions in backtrace:
org.hwsensors.driver.GPUSensors(1737.0)
…
loaded kexts:
com.insanelymac.IntelMausiEthernet 2.3.0
org.hwsensors.driver.GPUSensors 1737
org.netkas.driver.FakeSMC 1765

But if I look for the GPUSensors 1737 in my hard drive I got nothing…. I do not understand why, if I have installed FakeSMC GPUSensors 1765, the kernel panic log informs of a GPUSensors 1737

I am lost, and although computer works great, is annoying seeing on every start up the panic alert.

Any ideas? My knowledge on Hackintosh is very limited and I am stuck.

Thanks in advance,

The panic report may be stored in NVRAM.
Search your EFI partition for a file called nvram.plist and delete it if you find it.
Then open Terminal and type :
Code:
sudo nvram -c
Press return
Type your password (it will not show on screen)
Press return
Restart

Thanks a lot for your help.

Unfortunately, I still get the alert on every startup.

I have mounted EFI partition, and found the nvram.plist file you told. Deleted. Then, open terminal and typed the command "sudo nvram -c". Restarted, and again the alert. So, mounted again the EFI partition, no more nvram.plist file. I have open terminal and executed the "sudo nvram -c" again, just in case, restarted, but the alert is back.

The panic report may be stored in native NVRAM. Do CMOS reset.

Thank you very much!!

That solved my problem!!

After clearing CMOS, the annoying alert has gone.

i formatted the Mac OS Partition after kernel panic trying to install new one
i did CMOS reset removed all batteries and charger and still panic

no mac os installed
what can i do ?

Hello,

I have exactly the same problem.
Config: High Sierra 10.13.6, 17G65
ASUS Z370 A PRIME, I7 8700, GTX 1050, RAM CRUCIAL DDR4 8GB CT8G4DFS8213, SEAGATE and Samsung for Drive.

But in fact, it's not very important I think, because every think works fine, but it's just curiosity.
So, to be clear, every time boot, I have a window which says "Your computer restart because a problem".

I notice, the time for starting is still the same every boot "System uptime in nanoseconds: 184106120855"

I copy the Kernel Panic:

sudo nvram -c
sudo nvram -p
sudo nvram -x -p -> the problem still there

-> I tried CMD+MAJ+P+R -> the problem still there

-> I tried to remove the battery, I unplugged the power cable, I pressed the start button for 10sec
-> the problem still there

Do you have any idea?
Is there another place where a nvram.plist could be hide?

Thank a lot for reading.
Have a good day!!!!
(Thank for this website, I'm very proud to did my first Hackintosh with your help :) )
