I am trying to do an install of Mojave with a Asus Prime Z390-A MoBo and i9 - 9900k CPU. But I am running into a bit of a roadblock. I have created a bootable disk the using UniBeast. Then I plug that USB into a USB slot on the back of the mobo, turn on the rig and hold delete at the proper time to open up the BIOS. At this point however, I do not see the USB drive as a bootable device. I have turned off Secure Boot and I have all of the settings the same as the first post on this page:

I have removed the PK Management keys so as to allow the MoBo to deactivate Secure Boot mode.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the USB drive to show up as a bootable disk? I have tried 3 different USB drives and all of the USB ports on the computer, and I am having no luck. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

I am not an Asus motherboard user but pretty sure you are pressing the wrong key. Delete key usually goes into the BIOS on most motherboards, you should be pressing something like F8 key to select what you want to boot from. At the bottom of the screen it should tell you which key to press.

I have the same board - it's F8.

Also, I found that the front panel USB 2 ports don't recognize the Unibeast stick, only the front panel USB3 ports do. Try switching ports.

I have made sure that the front USB 3 ports (the blue ones) are working and the USB is lighting up when I turn the rig on, but it still does not recognize the USB as a bootable disk. Do I need to create the boot disc in Legacy mode?

Have you tried any other USB ports, ie the ports directly on the motherboard at the back?

I have. I will retry them all again just to be sure. I know that the ports work because my keyboard is plugged into two of the ports and I have switched the ports that they keyboard is plugged in to.

I tried all of the ports and nothing worked. I have not been able to get the bootable USB to show up. I have been able to make a bootable disc for Ubuntu and installed it fully, so I am wondering if there is something wrong with the bootable disc that I made with unibeast.

bonfilio124, were you using Unibeast 9.1.0-8 and installing Mojave? I just think something has to be off, and I can't see it being the MoBo because it recognized the Ubuntu bootable disc

I have remade the USB like 10 times on 3 different flash drives (two of which I went out and bought). I wanted to rule out the possibility of it being a bad build or a bad flash drive. Is it possible that the BIOS isn't recognizing it being built on a flash drive that was formatted using Mac OS Extended (Journaled)?
