Hello folks,

My T430 (2349SVE) with 1400X900 display is very stable after booting to Mojave. When Mojave was first installed it booted without glitches. Only after I removed the SSD to test a backup drive and reinserted did the kernel panics begin and now occurs about 1/2 the time.

Could someone help by taking a look at the boot and debug files to spot the error.

Attached is IOReg, zipped EFI and BootLog.txt

Many thanks,
Art

"Problem Reporting" files are incomplete.
Read FAQ, "Problem Reporting" again. Carefully. Attach all requested files/output.

Use the gen_debug.sh tool mentioned in the FAQ, that way it is less likely you'll omit something.

I think everything is there. The most tricky part was saving IOReg in time. I choose the option which includes sysprofile ("gen_debug -sysprofile txt").

Hope this is ok.

Your kextcache output proves kexts are not installed correctly.
All kexts you need must be installed to the system volume.
Read post #2 of the Clover guide for details:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/

Did not check anything else.

Much better now. I followed your guide and manually installed all the EFI kexts to L/E. My mental stumbling block was thinking all the Clover boot EFI kexts were inherited by the OS boot.

Many thanks again and again.

Everything seems to work except for the SD card reader. I included VoodooSDHC_T430.kext from a recent Mojave GitHub build and didn't see any glaring errors in the enclosed debug files. I think the kext was not recognized/accepted. Could you take a look and make suggestions on what is missing or wrong.

There is another solution for (PCIe) card readers linked by the FAQ:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/faq-read-first-laptop-frequent-questions.164990/

Your uploaded files prove that backlight control not implemented correctly.
See guide:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...ontrol-using-applebacklightfixup-kext.218222/

Your should start with a plist from the guide:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/

At that point, I stopped looking for further problems.

First the SD card thread you pointed out did the trick. No more looking for a USB card reader adapter when transferring photos. Much appreciated.

Second, display brightness worked ok before applying the applebacklightfixup kext. After carefully applying, the display was at max brightness and the control was missing in System Preferences and F7/F8 function keys. Removing the kext restored the functionality. Not sure what the reason was.

Overall I am very happy with the T430 and your assistance. Thank you.

You must have made a mistake.
No idea without PR files as per FAQ.
