pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

I don't know if that's an Nvidia web driver bug or a configuration issue...
Ok running with your 444 EFI build is
I think you have stuff installed from other guides that are still in your system. I don't have nvram.plist anywhere and I move my mouse all day without a crash.
you are probably right, yet right now with it no crashes (It's not the same board so who knows?). So so far I'm at : 17G2208, with your 444 EFI almost stock, processor is recognized with EFI nvram.plist and no crashes ;). The process did convert my boot drive to APFS...not sure I wanted that because of possible adobe compatibilities issues. Trying to get sleep to work and find the right kext for my second ethernet port...I don't use file vault so I removed the files you mentioned in another post earlier. Apple IGB kext version 5.3.5.3 worked before form my second ethernet port, now gives a kernel panic...And btw Thanks for the support ;)

On a side note there is SSDT-LPC.aml in your 444 EFI...have a feeling this is board specific...not sur if it is necessary...

I don't know why Adobe apps would have issues with APFS, especially when every new Mac being shipped now uses APFS.

What sleep issues are you having?

Not sure about ethernet. Which one works and which one doesn't?

Removing the FileVault stuff is fine. That's up to you.

I never had luck with the AppleIGB.kext.

If it's not in the patched folder, it's not being used. You can delete it if you like.

Waking up did not work before I removed IGB kext and put darkwake back to 8...now it works ;)

Ethernet:Intel Mausi 2.3.0 works for en0...have tried ALX, and AppleIntelE1000e.kext version 3.3.6 and IGB and Atheros 2.2.0 for en1 with nos luck so far...all of them in others...IGB used to work in /extension but no matter where I put it now extension or others is kernel panics...only other kexts in extensions are 3rd party ESATA and 3Rd party Sata since this board has a mix of intel and as Asmedia controllers so...I do understand you method is based on putting all kext in others...have not tried moving them to others yet...maybe I need to...but since I put these in extension I don't have 15 other generic AHCI unknown entries under stat or data express in system config, just the 2 as media and the 6 intel 10...

= removed and rebooting ;)

about APFS and adobe just do a web search you'll see. Since I have projects on different versions prior to cc 2018, awkward compatibility is such a nuisance that I'm thinking of switching to Resolve period...just a little bit off topic yet...backward not awkward yet I do like the word play here lol.

What do I need to change in my config.plist to change from my old Nvidia 960 to my new AMD RX570? I have Whatever Green and Lily in my kexts/other.
thx

If you are using my EFI folder, you don't have to do anything when changing video cards.

More progresss lol ;) Ok what to tackle next...USB fix? (ouch) or this...https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-intel-framebuffer-patching-using-whatevergreen.256490/. Through clover configurator, I've added the device/devices/properties PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1F,0x3) with layout id 07000000 and PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0) AAPL,ig-platform-id 03001259 device-id 12590000 - From your EFI 4.3.2 (they were not in 4440 - with gave me HVEC and h264 support with I could not achieve before (could only get HVEC before). So unsure about the need for https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...ching-using-whatevergreen.256490/...redundant maybe a bit...

looks from boot log seems like it's using /devices audio inject 2 / with is set / even though I've set devices /properties / devices / layout id to 07000000 though...

Thanks Chef for your prompt response.

I didn't know the advice was to avoid UseIntelHDMI with the latest WhateverGreen, I already turned back off.
The backup is from a real mac, a MBP 2017 (MacBookPro14,1).

I followed your suggestions, and the result is quite confusing.

Booted from the installer in the USB, completed the first part of the install, reboot, then selected "Boot macOS Install Prebootet from Preboot", 2 seconds later I got a really bad error message:

I was making my mind to start all over again, ...I just wanted to try one last time to boot from SSD, and it worked.

The restore completed successfully, I found the new user, all applications, settings, even the printer is set up; and everything seems to work.

Should I worry about these 2 Preboot options I have in the clover boot menu?, In case not, is there any way to remove them? (one is macOS inatall, the other FailVault):

Update config.plist by adding the volume names you want to remove to the "Hide" list in the Gui section in Clover Configurator in the simple way.

During an install, just leave the system alone. It should automatically select the correct volume to boot from each time until complete.
