Hi,

I'm new to Hackintosh scene and i would like to say hi to everyone.
I'm planning to build a cheap PC with intel i5 4th gen CPU but i don't know which motherboard to buy.

Can anyone suggest any cheap motherboard?

I would use this Hackintosh for writing some code so it doesen't need to bo extra powerfull build.

trs96 thank you for your answer.
Another question is what GPU should i use? After some reading it looks like nVidia releases drivers for new MacOS versions after a year and AMD graphics are now default in Macs so that should work out of the box? Correct me if i'm wrong please.

If a low price is important in your decision try the MSI RX560. It's officially supported since 10.13.4 and will work with Mojave. There is both a low profile and full height version. If those are above your budget range simply use the HD4600 integrated.

Does it have to bi MSI RX560 or can i buy it from any manufacturer?
The XFX brand RX560 does not work. Avoid that. Others should work. I prefer the MSI because it's on Apple's official support list for the Mac Pro. Just like the Sapphire Pulse RX580. Other brands may work too, just not XFX for the RX560 line. The three Mac Edition cards below are not recommended for a CustoMac. You want cards that are PC compatible for your Hackintosh.

See: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208898

These specific third-party graphics cards are Metal-capable and compatible with macOS Mojave on Mac Pro (Mid 2010) and Mac Pro (Mid 2012):
  • MSI Gaming Radeon RX 560 128-bit 4GB GDRR5
  • SAPPHIRE Radeon PULSE RX 580 8GB GDDR5
  • SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7950 Mac Edition
  • NVIDIA Quadro K5000 for Mac
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 Mac Edition

What is your budget? About two months ago, I found a Skylake (6th gen) system for $160 and it even included 8GB of RAM.

What has the performance of your RX560 been like since the Mojave upgrade ? I'd guess about the same as with HS. Anything to report there ?

My RX 560 has been running great. Performance is the same as it was in High Sierra, as far as I can tell. No issues to report.

I will probably buy some bundle (motherboard, cpu, ram) and i'm thinking about i5 6th gen. Budget is arround 400$.

What about nVidia GTX 710? I read somewhere that those cards should work out of the box.
I would buy if for start, later i would buy better graphics card if i would need it.
