pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

What wireless diagnostic? What did the panic report say?

By using an Apple branded Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card, no additional kexts or patches are necessary. If you are getting kernel panics, it's most likely caused by something else. Otherwise, it should cause real Macs with these Wi-Fi/Bluetooth cards to panic too.

Update:
I checked. I'm assuming you are talking about:

I tested on both my desktop hackintoshes and my laptop hackintosh and it caused hard reboots on all three machines. I have to assume that whatever hardware check it's doing is just incompatible with our hacks.

I confirm - I also got a reboot when trying "Wireless Diagnostics" when I was trying to figure out why my WiFi wouldn't connect (which as I posted before turned out to be a mis-installed Airport card).

On the repos, Lily is still at 1.2.5 and WhateverGreen is still at 1.2.0, how did you get Lily 1.2.6 and WhateverGreen 1.2.1?

Build from source - @headkaze has written a script to automate the process for you.

They were given to me by Pavo who compiled it himself.

As I noted above, I got a friend to bring over his monitor so I can test multi-monitor.

1. I installed Chrome.
2. Launched Chrome.
3. Restarted computer with:

4. Upon restart, I left it on the login screen for a minute or two.
5. Logged in.
6. No restart.

I have IGPU enabled. Both monitor connected to my Vega 56 via DisplayPort and HDMI.
Thanks for testing!

As it happened again so I've check the Problem Report and found the following

Kernel Extensions in backtrace:
com.apple.iokit.IOBluetoothFamily(6.0.7f10)[74C48C9C-2C96-3786-9ED7-F351FAA0E33C]@0xffffff7f948d7000->0xffffff7f949bffff

I guess something wrong with my Bluetooth Dongle.
Im going to get a BCM94360CS2 to replace my current BLE Dongle.

Thanks!

Yes. It looks like Bluetooth. How are things with the dongle unplugged?

Hi @pastrychef,
How you solved the High Speed Fan in Vega 56?
I tried almost every softPowerPlay Tables,Vega kext from chinese app and also manually changing AMD10000Controller.I also tried stock power table extracted from VBIOS but doesn’t work.
I can modify fans but they aren’t going to slow down unless I play a Video.

I have a 56 Pulse,which should’t be affected.

I'm still using the kext @eliyu provided in post #2425. My fan ramps up and down fine.

I think the fact that your Vega 56 is not a reference design may be the problem. Fan speeds should be controlled by the video card's firmware.

@pastrychef could you please show me your: log show --style syslog | fgrep "Wake reason"
I'm trying to sort out some issues as I keep getting:
"(AppleACPIPlatform) AppleACPIPlatformPower Wake reason: GFX0 PEG1 GFX0 PEG2 GFX0 PXSX RP10 PXSX RP11 PXSX RP12 PXSX RP13 PXSX PXSX RP02 PXSX RP04 PXSX PXSX RP06 PXSX PXSX RP08 PXSX P"

I believe I only noticed this after updating to the special "17G2112" build, I'm not entirely sure.

Also do you still use "Wake for Network Access" enabled? And do you still use both the i219 and the 10Gbe?

I just completed my hackintosh install and everything seemed to go pretty smooth...

The only problem I notice is that only half my RAM is recognized (the same as in your original post). You noted that it is no longer an issue but it seems to be affecting me still for some reason.
