Hi All,
I have been searching the forums and I have found similar topics, I made sure my serial port was disabled, and intel vt disabled and config lock disabled. I have a msi z97s motherboard intel 4690k 16 gigs ram and a 970 sli in there. I don't know if having two in there would do anything but i keep getting both LaunchAgents and LaunchDeamons and then later com.apple.windowServer. I uploaded my verbose log files it would be great if someone could point to the right direction. My bios version is E7930IMS v1.10.

  • Please add your hardware SPECS [MoBo+CPU+Graphics shown on your post ] to appropriate sections of your Personal Details
    • That will help to list them under your Login Name and Logo and make them available to readers all the time from any of your threads as required by the rules.
  • Your uploaded verbose boot indicates the problem you are having is from Graphics card.
  • Your Nvidia GTX 970 Graphics has no Nvidia Driver installed yet but is connected to to the System while you have an Intel HD 4600 that could boot the installer successfully.
  • My suggestion:
    • Force Reboot from above Verbose boot error screen
    • Press the Hotkey to enter BIOS Setup screen
    • In the BIOS change the appropriate options to ENABLE Intel HD Graphics 4600 [IGFX =ENABLED]
    • Go to the right menu to select DVMT Pre-Allocated Memory to 128M (or minimum 64M)
    • In the Boot Option Priorities make your USB Installer Disk as #1 and DISABLE ALL other Devices in that list
    • Check USB Options and other required BIOS options for macOS booting to be OK.
    • Save BIOS settings (F-10) and reboot
    • Screen will show "No Display"
    • Shut Down the Computer pressing ON/OFF switch
    • Remove Power Cable from PSU socket
    • Press ON/OFF switch a few times to Discharge any residual current
    • Disconnect the VIDEO cable from the Nvidia PCIE Card and connect to corresponding port of Integrated Intel HD Graphics.
    • Open the case.
    • Carefully remove any PCIE Power plugs from the Nvidia Graphics.
    • Remove Carefully the PCIE Graphics without disturbing other near by devices from their connections.
    • Reconnect Power and Reboot
    • Enter BIOS and make sure ALL the choices are OK as set last
    • Boot to Clover Boot Manager Screen
    • Go to Options>Boot Args: and make sure you have the flags -v dart=0
    • go to Graphics Injector-> and make sure :
      • [√]Inject Intel
      • FakeID : 0x04128086
      • *-platform-id=0x0D220003
    • Return to CBM screen and boot the USB installer
    • Post any verbose boot error screen
    • If no problem, after installing CLOVER and kexts on the System disk, make sure to edit its CLOVER /config.plist to use the Intel HD Graphics 4600 using the Fake ID and ig-platform-id and [√]InjectIntel as temporarily done in CBM screen for the boot.
    • Reboot still using USB installer for the last time
    • Once successfully logged in using your Password, you can eject the USB installer and test the System disk to boot without USB installer
    • After the System is fully updated using the Intel HD Graphics card, you can then install Nvidia web drivers and edit CLOVER/ kexts/Other folder for using Nvidia Graphics and then change config.plist to use Nvidia Graphics (remove the Intel Graphics associated entries) and save config.plist
    • Reboot
    • Enter BIOS
    • Change BIOS to use Nvidia Graphics PEG and DISABLE IGFX
    • Make your MacOS System Disk in Boot Options Priorities as #1 and DISABLE all other devices
    • Save BIOS options making sure all other needed Options are OK
    • Boot to CBM screen
    • Make sure you have -v dart=0 in Boot Args:
    • Make sure your Graphics Injector-> has no Intel related entries and has [√]NvidiaWeb
    • Return to CBM and boot and upload any error screen encountered or login to Desktop.
    • Check Apple>About This Mac>System Reports>..>Hardware and all submenu to confirm all devices have proper kexts and working normally.

Thanks cmn699 for responding. I updated all that in my profile. I did what you suggested and it got to the install screen and it installed to the hard drive and the restarted. Now I get absolutely nothing, clover won't even boot. When I try to go to clover I get a blink cursor in the top left. I reformatted the hd and still nothing. I searched the forum what guys said to nv_disable = 1, I tried that and nothing still goes to the cursor. Any suggestion would be great!

  • High Sierra is a Multi-stage installation ( 3-4 reboots for full Hard disk installation).

  • During the first stage, soon after partition and format, the copying of System files from the installer will begin and end in about 4-8 minutes
  • At the end of that, the system will automatically reboot .
  • During each reboot, you go to watch the screen carefully and press F-12 to use the Installer USB to enter the Clover Boot Manager(CBM) screen and then perform the following steps because your USB Installer's CLOVER was not created properly to boot Intel HD 4600,
    • Go to Options>Boot Args: and make sure you have the flags -v dart=0

  • Go to Graphics Injector-> and make sure :
    • [√]Inject Intel
    • FakeID : 0x04128086
    • *-platform-id=0x0D220003
  • Return to CBM Screen
  • Boot the Partially installed System Hard disk
  • The above steps are to be done each time the disk reboots until the system installation and account creation has been done
  • Then the CLOVER and Kexts installation on theHard disk has to be done and the CLOVER edited to use the Intel HD 4600 .
  • Only after you sign into the desktop with your password , you should eject the USB installer ( by this time the HDD would have a CLOVER similar to what is in the the USB installer that booted to help start the installation .
I am pretty certain you have missed steps to get to where you find yourself.
If you want to get it right you can follow the steps EXACTLY as listed.

Update I have it installed, there were multiple hard drives installed so removing everything and it worked. However, I can't get nvidia to install, when I remove intel it freezes on load.

booting from the hdd now, I get stuck in this loop over and over any suggestions

  • Sorry , I have difficulty to understand what you are trying to convey.
    • Are you saying your macOS High Sierra boots and works OK as long as you are using your Intel HD 4600 after you had completed its installation and CLOVER configuration and System updated to the latest macOS High Sierra Update?
    • You have not been able to switch the Graphics to Nvidia GTX 970 as the switch caused boot freeze?
      • Did you install Nvidia Webdriver?
      • Did you edit CLOVER/kexts/Other for Nvidia GTX 970?
      • Did you edit config.plist for Nvidia?
      • Did you change BIOS >Graphics options for Nvidia?
      • Did you Disable Intel IGFX in BIOS
    • Where is the verbose boot screen upload to the Forum to help you solve the problem?

Update I got it working by checking nvidia single as well, however now I don't have sound coming out of hdmi. Hopefully this is the last issue.
