How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

So I just did a brand new build today (my second x299 following this guide). My build has been, in a phrase, Absolutely Flawless™, everything is working really well with iMac Pro SMBIOS and patched BIOS. Much improvement since my first X299 system. Benchmarks are great, and overall system "feel" is very responsive now. Haven't tested sleep yet, low priority.

I ran into an issue with section E.9 ASUS Prime X299 Deluxe PCI Device Implementation - Sleep/Wake functionality

Previous to preforming these patches and placing "SSDT-XOSI.aml" and "SSDT-X299-iMacPro.aml" in my patched folder, restart was functional, now restart hangs after screen goes black.

To summarize:

1. No patches applied in ACPI, Apple > Restart/Shut Down = Fully functional
2. Enabled appropriate patches in guide
3. Added "SSDT-XOSI.aml" and "SSDT-X299-iMacPro.aml" to EFI folder.
4. Apple > Restart/Shut Down = No longer functioning, hangs at black screen.

ASUS Prime X299 Deluxe
Slot 1: GTX 970
Slot 2: EMPTY
Slot 3: Broadcom OSX WIFI
Slot 4: Thunderbolt

Slot 5: EMPTY
Slot 6: EMPTY

Any thoughts? I've attempted disabling different patches, haven't narrowed down the culprit yet.

you had restart working with ur maxwell titan x?

you had restart working with ur maxwell titan x?

It is a GTX 970. I now have two X299 builds, the Titan Maxwell is in the other build (in my profile) and it has always had the same issue. But in this build (with the 970), restart was functional before these patches so my inclination is that we could address the issue through refining these patches, I just don't know enough to know where to start on that.

I just removed the patches and restart is back to functional. I will swap in my titan x and see what happens.

I was wrong....

Unfortunately, I might have misunderstood what I have to do. I don't have any hardware from MOTU. Is my test still relevant to your needs? I got this:

I don't have a TB card. My motherboard has a USB 3.1 gen2 type C. Is that a TB port?

Also, my audio driver is VoodooHDA. It is working well.

Perfect now click on that wheel, there should appear some options:
motu.PNG

My question: is "Launch Mac Virtual Entity" displayed or not?

You dont need a Motu device for it, its the AVB stream enabler for getting acces into an AVB network. But its only there if all components match some conditions. Officially it's supported only on Macs with buildt in Thunderbolt (because they have Broadcom AVB ready Network Cards) and i have to figure out if its possible to enable it on hackintosh devices aswell since there are some Intel chipsets available with I210(AVB able)+ Ethernet standarts.

Afterwards you can unistall it. Thx for your endeavor.

I just put my cards in Slots as advised....

If I put my OSX BCM94360CD (AirPort Extreme (0x14E4, 0x133) Broadcom BCM43xx 1,0) in Slot 3 and enable ACPI Patch SLOC->ARPT I get a KP. If I disable Patch Boot is fine.

In the case of Titan X Maxwell, both with or without the ACPI patches and .amls result in no restart :(. Restart works with GTX 970 WITHOUT patches, not with. Seems like the issue is related to the web driver likely [SPECULATION].

You have the SSDTs (BOTH) provided by KGP in your patched folder? SSDT-X299-iMacPro.aml and SSDT-XOSI.aml?
