pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

UPDATE: So it looks like iMessage is working 100% stable (so far). I used the second method for power management. I haven't found a way to test power management to see if my changes took effect or not, but since it isn't a primary concern for me I'll focus on other issues I'm having like audio and graphics. Also, I have chosen to not attempt the USB fix until I reinstall OS X on my M.2 SDD that will be arriving this weekend.

I tried using MultiBeast to fix my audio but that didn't seem to work. While in MultiBeast, under "Quick Start" I selected "UEFI Boot Mode" and then under the "Drivers" tab I selected the two options you mentioned, "ALC1220A (ASUS ROG STRIX ONLY)" and "100/200/300 Series Audio Support". I then proceeded to the "Build" tab, saved the file and hit install. It read that the install was successful, so I restarted the computer and loaded a YouTube video to find that the audio was still not working. However, when I plug in headphones in the front audio jack I do hear sound. Any suggestions on what I did wrong or what I could do to get the mobo audio fixed?

As for the graphics, I'm having a lot of distortion while browsing the internet. I'm seeing a lot of black blocks around my mouse whenever I hover over my browser tabs/different sections on websites. I'm also seeing black spots in many different websites that should be displaying colors that correspond to the rest of the webpage. Also, when I put a video in fullscreen mode and move my mouse while in fullscreen, I get very bad shutters and black lines at the top and bottom of my screen running horizontally. Any idea as to what is causing this?

No, don't use Quick Start. That will redo your entire config.plist. Just click the Drivers tab at the top and then select your drivers. Then click build. Take a look at your config.plist and make sure all the DSDT patches to rename devices are still there. I don't know of using Quick Start would mess those up...

You can try toldeda's script to get your audio ports mapped correctly:
Sierra Desktop/Realtek AppleHDA Audio | tonymacx86.com

Please send a screenshot of what you are experiencing with your graphics card.

It does look like I messed up my config.plist lol so I'll be having fun redoing everything again. Before using Quick Start I attempted to just select the two drivers I needed and build, but I got an error. I just tried that again and I got the same error.

"12/28/17 18:31:28 - Mounting EFI
12/28/17 18:31:28 - Mount of EFI partition failed. Exiting."

I'm not sure what's causing the error. I tried with the EFI mounted and unmounted via Clover Configurator to see if that changed the error message and it did not.

Here are a couple of SS's of the issues I'm having with the graphics:

So for videos, whenever I hover my mouse over the video player, those black lines show up at the top and bottom. Whenever I hover outside of the video player or the mouse deactivates from the player within three seconds, the black lines go away. If I'm in fullscreen mode, the video lags extremely badly as I move my mouse and the black lines are even worse.

You can avoid that error if you mount your system drive's EFI partition before running MultiBeast. Clover Configurator can be used to mount the partition.

Did you install the Nvidia web drivers? Make sure you get the version that's associated with your version of macOS.

I had not installed the web drivers, but that certainly eliminated the issues I was experiencing! As for the MultiBeast error, I did mount the drive's EFI partition with Clover Configurator prior to running MultiBeast and I still got the error. I just tried it again after a restart and got the same result. I'm going to give your previous suggestion a shot and use toldeda's script to try and remap my audio ports.

I saw this thread with another user having similar issues, but he never updated the thread if he was able to overcome the issue or not. It also says I have insufficient privileges to reply to that thread for whatever reason.

Having some trouble with a new build a lot like this one. 8700K CPU, Strix Z370-E in a giant ATX case, MSI GTX 1080. I was stuck at trying to boot the installer, but then I finally gave in and tried moving the memory modules to 0 and 2. Now I still can't boot the installer, but it gets further along. I get a kernel panic very early, within the first couple pages of log spam - Kernel trap at 0x00..01, type -1441645148=. I'm using your EFI folder from the first post.

It's my first build so I'm not sure where to go from here to troubleshoot. I assumed the build would be pretty easy since there was this perfect working example in front of me.. Any help would be appreciated. :)

I don't know what that kernel panic means. But you can try installing with just one stick of RAM. This should eliminate the possibility that RAM is preventing you from completing the install.

Thank you! Do you know if the Z370-I motherboard would work? (minus the pci-e slot for wifi..)
