Hello,

First,
Big thanks to all those who are constantly helping people on the forum. You guys are great. People like me will never have this kind of patience and knowledge to help many member for years, especially rehabman. Thank you for all those guides that really helped me to understand some fundamentals.

Introduction
I know it is kind of dumb that I stuck on the very first step...(to build a bootable USB). So, I don't think I can attach any problem reporting file right now because I did not even boot to the Clover screen yet...(Rehabman, please correct me if I am wrong.)

So my situation,
The laptop uses an unknown motherboard model (HP branded), and IGPU is disabled by default (no settings in the bios to re-enable it), and a UHD screen, 3840x2160. I am planning to install the hackintosh Sierra on an external SSD, connected to my computer through USB 3.0. and the audio card is A295, which supports are recently added to AppleALC..which I did not figure out how to use yet. But these are later stories...

Now the question is,
I followed this guide to create a usb stick,
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/

and these two guides as reference for my computer,
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-hp-envy-haswell-series-j-k-q-n-using-clover-uefi.232963/
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-hp-pavilion-15-ab216tx-high-sierra.233454/

(The confused parts are highlighted in red for easier to read.)
the step I am currently stuck at is the Clover Configuration. From the guide, it stated I need to find an appropriate plist from the repo... but I could not find any that is directly related to the dedicated graphic card ones..So I downloaded the HD530 one, which is supposedly to serve the disabled IGPU. Then, I opened to plist with plistedit pro to disable the DMVT 32mb fix, because I think if the IGPU is disabled, the system will just use the dedicated GPU memory, which is 8GB, way beyond the minimum requirement of 64MB by the mac os. But I could not find anywhere to disable DMVT. Then I went into the specific guide on this and still could not figure out how to disable this. Also, do I need Nvidia-disable=1 boot argument? If I disable the nvidia...then I have no graphic card to show stuff right?

Some further stuff might come up,
From what I researched, as showed here,
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/hp-omen-17-an015ng-running-os-x-sierra.228997/
apparently the battery status will not work even after the ACPI is patched...? But I think I will meet these problems later and I will extend this thread to include those questions.

A small request,
Can you guys point me to the correct direction as right now I am very confused...because I read UHD screen can also causes issues...somehow...just so many uncertainties. Are there guides that i missed, which really resemble my system setup?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

That's fine.

Nonsense. These guides are not for your laptop.

No "Problem Reporting" files attached.
Read FAQ, "Problem Reporting" again. Carefully. Attach all requested files/output.
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/faq-read-first-laptop-frequent-questions.164990/
Use the tool mentioned in the FAQ, that way it is less likely you'll omit something.

Thank you for your reply. :) Your reply reassures me...

Haha, I know, I am just using them as a reference, to see how stuff works for HP laptop, like the bios setting for example...

About the problem reporting,
Now I realize I can just leave the configuration and boot and see what's gonna happen.. I will do that and generate the problem reporting files if something happened.

please bear with me since I might have a lot of questions. Thank you!

In particular, if you provide complete "Problem Reporting" data as requested in the FAQ, I will be able to determine if the hardware details in your profile is accurate...

Yes, sir. I will run the thing as soon as my SSD arrives tomorrow! Right now all I have is an USB stick haha.
Enjoy your day~ :)

With your USB stick, you can boot Clover, and then generate misc/preboot.log with F2.
That will at least give us an ability to see what PCIe hardware is present (of interest, which graphics devices are present).

So I tried. Nothing got generated (Both F2 and Fn+F2)... On the main page, it did say it can only write to fat32 format...But the usb drive is formatted into macOS journal extended... What to do?

Also, I tried to proceed with boot argument dart=0, -v, and nv_disable=1, and the screen showed me a lot of error messages, yet still somehow booted into the macOS installation screen, i clicked a bit and I can proceed all the way to disk utility.

I created a custom Clover Configuration file according to this guide...
https://www.******.com/r/hackintosh...ings_of_a_hackintosher_a_sorta_brief_vanilla/

Bios:
Secure boot - off
Legacy Support - on

Here are the Clover folder and error message screen capture. Thank you very much rehabman!!!

Add,
I have seen some of your replies on the similar error messages. Those messages basically indicate the config file is corrupted...I did not use the text editor to edit the config...I used plistedit pro... why is this happening?

I find misc/preboot.log in the EFI/Clover you attached no problem...

You will likely have a bit of a struggle to install.
You will probably need the Nvidia web drivers.
Hopefully you can install with nv_disable=1.

See guide:

I KNEW it! It is always me who is bad luck...But it is okay. I will proceed tonight, and report back in the midnight.

Thank you so much though!

The installation succeeded. But a lot of things are not working properly.

Things failed to work,
1, cannot install kext using terminal. When I copy the file to the folder, it says "system extension cannot be installed." And when I still continued and used the command in the guide, the terminal returns no such file found. I also tried to fix permission, and nothing happened.
2, The battery status is not working (I am trying to follow the SSDT laptop guide, but I am very lost...).
3, The audio is not working, but recognize the hardware though. I used AppleALC, with lilu. I also tried insert an extra line, called, resetHDA, which end up stuck at loading screen, IOConsoleUser: gLOScreenLockState... so I removed it.
4, Trackpad is kind of working, I can use hard click and two fingers scroll. No other gestures or functions are usable. No trackpad is recognized in the settings.
5, The brightness keys are not working, and there is no brightness bar in the settings/display.
6, The keyboard is working weirdly as the alt key becomes the command key and the "windows" key does nothing...
Things workings so far,
1, graphics
2, microphone
3, CPU Power management is patched.
Please, help... :(
Thanks in advance.
