What is the easiest/safest way to enable trim for the SATA drives on 10.13?
Thanks -just want to make sure before screwing anything upEnabling TRIM on 10.13 is the same as it always has been.

Is this better than using trimforce? I just did a clean install of 10.13.2 and my new nvme drive has trim enabled by default, but my SATA SSDs (previous 10.12.6 OS drive, and a windows 10 drive) now show trim is not enabled, though it was under 10.12.6... I want to do whichever is best, this kext patch, or the trim force command. Thanks!Enabling TRIM on 10.13 is the same as it always has been.

ive a question ? Trim support just for SSD or can used for HDD ?
do i need enable trim ?? ( in my case seagate 1traGR HDD )
i havent ssd
what the different change trim ??
speed up ??
TRIM is only for SSD. It spreads usage through all of the storage on the drive so it doesn't wear out parts earlier (SSD storage has a limited number of writes before a given cell won't change anymore; it's extremely high but does exist).
You should check the description in MultiBeast.Sorry if I ask this question in this thread
what is 3rd party sata ??
i installed this
In total for what 3rd party ??
Provides support for the ASMedia ASM1061, JMicron 36x (aka GSATA) and Marvell 88SE912x, 88SE9172 and 88SE9230 SATA controllers. All drives connected to these ports show on the desktop as Internal and can NOT be hot swapped. Installs AHCI_3rdParty_SATA.kext in /Library/Extensions.
