How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

I did get the 0927 latest ones.. Tried to select Inject ATI on graphic section (cuz now I also has Radeon as well), even put back the 980Ti and select Nvidia, or even added nv_disable=1, nvda_drv=1 on boot flags (that tricks made my X99 asus Deluxe II worked), of course only using one video card at a time, still a no go...

And with all the different graphics cards you always get the same error? The latest EFI is from 0928 anyway....

Can you give me a short reminder about which mobo we are actually talking? ASUS Prime X299 Deluxe?

Any additional PCIe cards on your rig? If so remove them just for the macOS installation...

Yes, the X299 deluxe.. sorry for the confusing, and only 1 video card on the pci slot, no other additional cards (I read your guide, didn't add thunderbolt card yet) and always the same error.. Just to Double check if I do the right setup,
1) Using 16Gb USB Flash drive 3.0, Format with HFS, run Sudo command to have the HS installation, mounted EFI, transfer your EFI folder over, modify Vodo kext for 10 cores 7900, install Clover EFI boot loader with selected options
2) I now try with a spinning HD for my system disk, formatted HFS and got HS OS installed on that System disk by my MacBook Pro, mounted EFI and also transfer all your EFI folder, installed Clover Bootloarder as well (I did remove the Emu64...efi on the USB Installtion Flash drive and has that on my system disk drive of 64EFI folder)
3) Plug the USB Flash drive to USB 2.0 port, 3.0 and 3.1, always same error, wonder what could causing that error???

a.) By sudo command you mean the createmediainstaller comand?

b.) if you copy my EFI-Folder you do not need to install clover in addition. My EFI-Folder already contains the most actual officially ditributed clover distribution.

c.) I guess you verified your Bios settings already a 100 times?

Just don’t give up! I am sure we will be able to manage. I am just booting an USB3.0 USB Flash Drive installer on a USB3.0 port as I use the XHC USB kext for the ASUS Prime X299 Deluxe in the EFI Folder of my USB Flash Drive installer which works well with the latter mainboard...

Your installation just fails at the very final step of the entire boot process just immideately before directly entering the macOS Installer screen when suddenly huge amount of information rapidly pops up within 2 seconds. There it goes wrong! This messages should not appear at all!
Everything else behaves in 100% as expected. I deeply investigated your video. All other boot messages are exactly like on my rig!

You are very very close to success.. you know that’s hackintosh.. the minimal deviation can have maximal impact

Yes, the sudo command meant the creating the installation media, sorry for the lazy typing,lol... Insterting that I always install the Clover Bootloader one more time over the USB flash drive (and also the System disk as well). So basically if I copy your whole EFI folder to my EFI partiation, I don't need the Clover Bootloard install anymore, am I right?

Exactly!

Awesome.. It's 11.14pm here, will try it first thing tomorrow when I got to my shop, thank you very much!

Your are very welcome... Don't stop writing me until we succeed in successfully booting your rig

Have a sound sleep!

I'm trying to get my new hack to work for a couple of weeks now, but without any success. Hardware:
- MSI X299 Raider
- i7-7820X
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I retried many times, but nothing changed.

Since I have a similar mobo (I have the 7820X on a MSI SLI Plus), I can give you a couple of tips:

* In BIOS, make sure you have CFG disabled. This is somewhere in the CPU parameters (sorry, don't remember exactly where). Without this, I got a reboot each time after the ++++++.

* My system was unstable after installation, with random reboots occurring once in a while. I finally had to tweak the Core Voltage and pin it at 1.21. Now it seems very stable. This might be an issue either with the 7820X or with the motherboard, so it might not apply to you.

Good luck!

* There is a thread for the MSI SLI Plus. Perhaps you can find some more help there:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...-stable-system-looking-for-4k-monitor.229235/

I have found both threads (this one from KPG and the above one on the MSI) very helpful in creating my hack. I find this thread incredible complete, but sometimes with too much information. The other thread is the opposite. More terse on information, but sometimes things are lacking. But they both compete each other very well.

Good luck!

The originating post you refer to, further refers to two in my opinion totally inadequate guides and approaches for Skylake-X /X299. One of these two guides is even my own Broadwell-E/EP (Haswell-E/EP)/X99 macOS High Sierra 10.13 Desktop Guide, which is totally useless in case of Skylake-X /X299 and was never meant for this purpose!

For me it is fine if you decided to follow these guides although I don't share your opinion, but please don't promote them here in my actual Skylake-X/X299 macOS High Sierra 10.13 Desktop Guide thread! This just confuses the readers and sends them on a in my opinion totally misleading track and approach for Skylake-X/X299.

I am sorry that concerning my Skylake-X/X299 Desktop Guide you apparently have the feeling of too much information. However, I am convinced of providing just the necessary and really required information and instructions. Not only your reply and feedback demonstrate, that even the already somewhat lengthily guide still not seems to sufficently illustrate and transmit the absolute mandatory basics for Skylake-X/X299. Further more the guide is meant for general application and for a broad range of users, including newbies. Experts are certainly able to overlook already well known details. I am not in favour of just distributing a simple EFI-Folder and to leave else the users without any further details or information.

Many thanks for your understanding!

Yes, I agree the first two links in the first post are not adequate. However the thread then later develops into a nice exploration of the correct config for the MSI X299. In particular, I got the hint of disabling almost everything on the Clover config from the thread.

I think you are right in not posting wrong guides here, so I have removed the link to the thread from my post. Sorry for that.

Well, I meant too say it was a bit too much information for my needs, and so it was difficult to find what I needed. For example, I know how to create the installation media, I don't need issues specific to RX cards, and so on. So I didn't mean to say your guide had problems, I just meant to say it was too much for what I need. And indeed I could not find everything there, but that is understandable, each system (Mobo+CPU) might have different issues.

Your guide was very helpful in teaching how to create a unique UUID so that I could have iMessage working, your guide was very helpful in having a consistent XPM (I knew of ssdtprgen, but I didn't know about Intel Power Gadget). Thanks to your guide, I didn't even try to use Toleda's Auidio kext and went straight to VoodooHDA. So your guide is full of very useful info for me.

All the best and thanks for the guide once more!
