@jkbuha I thought these were the correct DVMT settings you had mentioned in your previous post.

From extensive testing I've found out that 128MB and above (>=0x04) works well. In reality DVMT is allocated on demand, so as long as there is a sufficient aperture on pre-alloc (0x785) and a sufficient ceiling to work with (0x786) you should be fine.

Is anyone else having audio playback issues? My specific problem is that speaker audio output will not work after sleep unless I open the "Sound" System Preferences window to the "Input" section. This only happens sometimes while other times it works flawlessly. Is there something I need to do from the FAQ in order to fix this? I thought sound was working with all of the SSDT patches provided in the included zip.

I have the same issues. Audio stops working at random, sometimes after sleep but it has also happened to me after switching speakers/hp, with the volume control only producing pops and no audio. Going to the sound prefs and literally just switching to the input tap will fix the issue.

I had it with my previous installation running an earlier BIOS and Sierra, and the problem returned after I did a clean 1.3.5/10.12.6 install.

It happens on both speaker and headphone output. I decided to settle with it since the speakers are so mediocre (even my iPhone 7 has better sound) and, as you stated, it only occurs every now and then. I have no idea what causes the dropouts though

Hello ! First of all I'd like to thank all the people that contributed to this guide, have been running it for almost a week now and it's working great (even though it took me nearly 2 weeks to get the wifi card and understand the guide) !

I still have two issues: The power button doesn't seem to work and there is static noise when I plug in headphones.
And swapped VoodooController for syscl one, cause I liked the four finger gestures he provided.

Also, I tried to make FileVault work, and ended up with a stop sign when trying to boot from the "Recovery" partition; might still try it another time though.

- FileVault requires additional EFI drivers to be loaded.
- Power button works if you set OSYS to Linux. On my very own system, I run with OSYS = Linux, but a few users experience issues like system freeze when plugging AC, so the main assets set OSYS to WIN. Do your experiments, if you have FHD it very well may work with OSYS Linux like my system does.
- Static through headphones: not all systems affected. Mine, e.g., is not. @jkbuha provided a solution, but with that solution I was never able to make HDMI audio work. If he's kind enough to investigate, we might try again.

For HDMI audio to work two things need to happen:

1) I'd need to get an USB-C HDMI connector first (obvs)
2) The patch I provided to make 591d work with no flicker will need to be amended to divert audio through the HDMI port.

It's not on the topmost priority at the moment because of (1) but I'll see if I can find some time in the coming weeks to get myself a connector and play with the TV...

Can someone give me a link to 10.12.6 ?
My desktop is 10.12.6 but i cant download it from the app store. I keep getting 10.12.3
very strange...

Guys, is your battery cycle count updating? I just realised that mine seems to be stuck at the same number since i built this hack (approx 1 month ago), and i've drained the battery several times.

Not updating, boot Windows to check actual cycle and wear counters.
My advice is to set charge start to 80% and stop to 90% inside BIOS, this greatly decreases battery wear.
I have at least 100 full cycles on my battery, no wear or battery runtime change.

Unless you implement a real cycle count in ACPI (I suspect you haven't done that), ACPIBatteryManager.kext estimates cycle count based on the difference between MaxCapacity and DesignCapacity.

I have re download this numerous times, still no luck.
Any reason someone cant send me a copy as VM's are not recommended?
I think that's the right version of the installer.
