Sorry guys, Apple stuck on time. Tell me what kind a professional CGI (animation, motion graphics or moviemaker) will take a locked in a GPU (and processor) for 4 ou 5 years? iMacPro is a great machine, it's true, but keep a macusers in a prision (unless you have a customize best machine money can buy). I will wait for the macPro, to get upgrades. Otherwise, Customacs works better.

Naw. They bring out a new Mac Pro in 2018 as they said they would. The iMac Pro is a "hurry up to stop the complaining."

Umm.. I don't think so. It's sort of: hey let's see how "pro" target will react to this. If it's going to be fine they will release more PRO iMac. That's it. I'm pretty sure they didn't even started on a new MacPro concept.

Anyone notice nVidia got completely spurned? Not a single nVidia device included in the specs of the new iMacs.

You are wrong. Apple invited well known bloggers to their campus earlier this year (April). Not only they confirmed a new modular Mac Pro was being designed and coming 2018, they also told them new iMacs this year will have models tailored for the Pro users, which are the ones just announced.

Nvidia has been introduced with new MacPro version (I hope so)

They only released this because they found a lot of content creators were using iMacs as their main system (Probably due to the screw up with the last Mac Pro), like what's previously mentioned they're seeing how the market will react to it. Apple know there is a huge demand for a proper upgradable mac pro, hell they even announced they're making one before it's finished which super unorthodox for apple.

True but by then we'll be on at least volta. Seems that Nvidia is still supporting OSX no matter what. I just hope this time for high Sierra (I hate that name) there's Nvidia support for Pascal (or volta) right out of the box instead of taking over 10 months. We'll have to wait and see.

Sexy machine, but...
  1. It will probably be a royal PITA to open up and dust out those blower fans when dust builds up in there.
  2. Potential of thermal throttling.
  3. Potentially noisy.
  4. Non-upgradable GPUs.
While very powerful and a very beautiful system, I feel like Apple is still trying to make everything disposable and wants us to buy new machines every 3-4 years.

I hope the Mac Pros will have some sort of Nvidia support.

I really, really like built-in 10GbE!!! Too bad it's not on all new models. It's overdue.
