[Guide] Dell XPS 13 9360 on MacOS Sierra 10.12.x - LTS (Long-Term Support) Guide

Hey, I followed this guide and it helped tremendously. I managed to get everything working besides the Wi-Fi (I'm waiting for the card to arrive and I'm currently using my android phone as a USB hotspot) and my brightness.

My specs are
Code:
XPS 13 9360
i5-7200U (Kaby Lake)
FHD (1920x1080) matte screen
128GB SanDisk NVME SSD
8GB LPDDR3 RAM
Bios 1.3.2
USA-International keyboard layout

I have macOS 10.12.5 and since the traditional brightness control methods broke in 10.12.4, I followed this guide instead https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...rol-using-applebacklightinjector-kext.218222/.
(Before following that guide though, my graphics were also not working fully and the UI was missing transparency and laggy. Applying the fix had fixed my graphics.)

The brightness slider is visible in SysPref>Display, but moving it left and right does not change the brightness, nor does changing the brightness via keyboard do anything (which is for some reason FN + B or S. The dedicated brightness keys don't do anything). I can see the OSD though and the bar is decreasing/increasing.
One thing I noticed is that before the screen times out, the display dims, and when I interact with it before it times out, it brightens back up (Indicating that mac is able to adjust the brightness?).

I tried searching everywhere for a solution, but most just point to the guide I mentioned above.
Do you know what I am missing, or is there no solutions for 10.12.5?

Read FAQ, "Problem Reporting"
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/faq-read-first-laptop-frequent-questions.164990/

Installing IntelBacklight.kext resulted in broken graphic drivers (and a veeeeery long boot-up time)

IntelBacklight.kext does not work on 10.12.
Your broken graphics and long boot up is because you didn't patch ACPI correctly (correctly patched, IntelBacklight.kext will load quickly, not break graphics, but will still not work...)
No "Problem Reporting" files attached.
See also, correct brightness guide:

Oh, my bad. I removed IntelBacklight.kext from /S/L/E.
Sorry, but how do I create the "Problem Reporting" files? It's my first time hackintoshing

there is a section here:

https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/faq-read-first-laptop-frequent-questions.164990/

called "Problem Reporting" which details on what files to upload
Thank you so much.

I attached the "problem reporting" files. I also already followed that guide

Hi, my configuration:

XPS 13 9360
i5-7200U (Kaby Lake)
FHD (1920x1080) matte screen
256GB Toshiba NVME THNSN5256GPUK SSD
Killer Wifi 1535
8GB LPDDR3 1866MHz RAM
Bios 1.3.2

I follow this guide since februarry, just because I liked it...
This was the reason I got the XPS, but as there was no i7 version available where I was, I "risked" with i5.
Then I waited aliexpress 45 days for broadcom.
But finally, thanks to bozma88 and rehabman I have a splendid machine from first attempt!

  • OsX: 10.12.5 (install was done with 10.12.4), update with 0 issues
  • 4K formated drive with ubuntu (no kext and dsdt)
  • NO ISSUE WITH PLUG IN-OUT! I tried to provoke but no way...)
  • I do not experience coil whine, please tell me how could i try to provoke it
  • Can not check bluetooth, no device to pair...
  • Brightness, not working but following rehabman's advice i use bergdesign brightnes and it's perfect.

Thank you so much.

I attached the "problem reporting" files. I also already followed that guide (it was the one that fixed my graphics).

Problems/comments:
- IntelBacklight.kext is still installed (in EFI/Clover/kexts). Remove.
- CPU PM not implemented
- config.plist/SystemParameters/InjectKexts is set to Yes. Should be "Detect".
