Hi guys,

my current part list is
i5-4670k
8G DDR3 RAM
GTX 780
ASUS Maximus VI Hero Z87

Since my mobo does not have wifi/bluetooth, I need to add it. I looked at the April build guide list, it suggested the fenvi dual band wifi/bluetooth card, but it says states that it will NOT support bluetooth in 10.12. How will AirDrop or some other Mac services work without bluetooth then? What card should I get instead?

Thanks.

@braveheart0707, please update your profile (personal details) with your build (Motherboard or Model, CPU and Graphics Card).

Since you have the PCIe slot available, i would just simply use the well-known fenvi T919, which is really a BCM94360CD

Alternatively, you can use any pcie adapter + a BCM9436 chip

The amazon page clearly states that this Fenvi T919 adapter will not have bluetooth in Mac 10.12 though.

It requires a connector goes to a USB2.0 header on your motherboard.
It does work fully (handoff both direction/airdrop)
I have identical unit.

this is wellknown work OBB, there's a lot of threads about it on Tonymac already. Check them out.

edit: the connector comes with the unit as well, and you will want to config usb ports correctly to get all features working reliably.

Yes, I already bought this card and using it in Windows with the bluetooth cable connected to a USB header. Wifi and bluetooth works fine.

Are you saying this card WILL WORK in 10.12 for both WIFI and Bluetooth? The amazon page is wrong?

Yes, you are correct.
I have it working in both 10.12.3 and 10.12.4 currently.
I do have shutdown issue due to USB even having a SSDT-USB installed while meeting 15 ports(no patch, boot arg with uia_exclude) for the particular board I am using.
So, ticking FixShutdown helped me fix the problem of every time when iPhone tries to handoff, my shutdown hackintosh wakes up, or any other USB devices in that case.

Hi Guys , @GhostHitWall , @RehabMan

1) Should i get a fenvi or BCM94360CD Apple Broadcom for my below specs?

2) i am currently up and running OSX 10.12.4 Sierra any issues with bluetooth or wireless for 10.12.4 with fevi or BCM94360CD?

Motherboard: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS IX FORMULA
Graphics: ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1080 8GB OC
SSD: 960EVO 1TB
Plextor MP8e 1TB
RAM: Trident Z RGB 16GB x 4
CASE: Phanteks Entho Evolv Temper Glass

I think either or will be fine, your board has enough PCIe slots, and also the m.2 slot for an adapter + the proprietary Apple NIC
.
A PCIe adapter works too.
