@robaird My sleep is now working. There was a step that I did not follow in Stork's build. I have now installed CodecCommander.kext. I put the hack too sleep last night around 00:30. It was still sleeping when I got up. Tapped the space bar and it started immediately. Although this is good, there is a bit of a delay in everything connecting and my Apple Watch times out when it is trying to log me in, no big deal.

Nice guide, I have the same mb with a evga gtx 1080 ftw.

Fantastic guide. With its aid even me as a complete CustoMac beginner managed to build a smoothly running machine. I used the same mainboard and the boxed version i7-6700 as well as an EVGA 1070 FTW. It's running perfectly and about 3 times faster than my Mac Pro Late 2013 4-core.

Regarding Sensor Data: For all those who only see a part of their sensors like me at the beginning in HWSensors, the following worked for me: Go to /System/Library/Extensions and /Library/Extensions, delete all kexts that contain "FakeSMC*" in their name, download the newest HWMonitor from the website (that what states it has Pascal support), mount your EFI partition and put FakeSMC.kext in /EFI/EFI/Clover/kexts/10.12 and all the other kexts (like GPUSensors.kext) that come with HWMonitor in the /EFI/EFI/Clover/kexts/Other folder. Reboot then and you are going to see all sensors your system possess. :)

A last question regarding the very last issue I have: When sending the CustoMac to "Sleep" it very often powers down to directly power up a second later. If I then again click on "Sleep" it sleeps as expected. How can I find out what wakes my CustoMac the first time when it goes to sleep and how could I circumvent this problem so that the CustoMac sleeps directly at the first click on "Sleep"? This is definitely a "first world problem" but the last thing step to being able to say "I own a machine that is in all aspects better than my Mac". Thanks in advance :)

Did you use Pacifist to extract the kext from the HWSensors.6.23.1417?

Regarding my initial question and the sleep/power management. I used pmset -g log and found this for a non-working sleep cycle, i.e. a cycle in which the system powers down in order to shortly start up one second later:

Unfortunately, I really can't see a sense in this. One characteristic of non-working and working sleep cycles is the "Display is turned on" vs "…off". But maybe this is a mere coincidence. Does anybody know what really forbids my CustoMac to sleep here?

Edit: Just in order to completely show all information, this is the log for a working sleep cycle:
