I moved my GPU around, got the card installed in the first slot and attached it to the MB.

I can see the Thunderbolt option in the BIOS, and the Thunderbolt Utility recognized an attached device when I booted into windows, but I rebooted in Windows and not it's not there :|

I just installed the Thunderbolt software, is there an update I need to apply to the board? If so, where do I get it? I don't see anything on the ASUS site.

This is great! Thanks for the info. I've been using an Pro Tools Duet and have been considering the switch to the new Apollo MKII. I have the Gigabyte GAZ170-MX Gaming 5 and regretted not getting a TB mobo but someone on TonyMac linked me here. I'll order it on Amazon and give it a shot.

@Gorelander get the GC-Alpine Ridge instead for that MOBO ;)

Any benefits other than matching brands? Those are a little harder to find. The Asus one I can get from Amazon, the
GC-ALPINE RIDGE I have to order from online computer stores I've never heard of.

Thanks.

Hi, I did not do Hackintosh yet, but I wanted to ask if the configuration would work in Windows?: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 3, Intel I7 6700k, Corsair 16 Gb 3200, Asus ThunderboltEX 3, and Apollo Twin MK2

The next batch of those should be hitting stores anytime now, so they should be more accessible. Which country are you in?
They're made for your board (same one I have), it seems a safer bet to me.

I'm in Canada.

I'm in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Gigabyte Alpine Ridge It is not possible in almost ninugn place of the world, I was tracking it for a few weeks and between a single place that they have it and it is in The Netherlands and they only do shipments within europe. I read in this same forum thread that a user had more or less the same configuration and I worked the card Asus ThunderboltEX 3

For the doubts for those who live in Europe, I leave the internet site where they sell the gigabyte interface https://www.alternate.nl/GIGABYTE/ALPINE-RIDGE-1-0-Carrd-Controller/html/product/1306936 ? Event = search

@Gorelander i was in contact with a few distributors in the US that were all expecting a resupply. Try calling Gigabyte CA directly and getting a status from them — @fedemusic you could try the same thing for your area

We should probably continue the GC discussion in this thread and leave this one for people looking to use the Asus card. My bad for derailing things :silent:
