Radeon Compatibility Guide - ATI/AMD Graphics Cards

Preventing it from getting init'ed during boot phase (e.g. by setting iGPU=Primary) should fix it, at the cost of your boot screen.

During boot i'm able to boot in to my OS without any changes. However the issue is when trying waking my system up from sleep.

Does your solution above fix this?

Well, it's certainly not a Hackintosh/macOS issue, since the computer doesn't even start...

Never had such an issue myself, don't know what could be wrong (besides a defective card).

Thanks, Tried again and replaced motherboard 2032 battery. Works like a charm, Has cut my FCPX render times in half!

I have the Gigabyte H81M-S2H mobo. There's no option for iGPU but there's an option to set Initial Display Output to IGFX under Peripherals. I tried it with that but still received a black screen upon booting back up from sleep mode

Nope - it didn't disappear.
Was still able to see my Clover Boot Screen and select the OS

I'll experiment a few things with the link you appended (Y)

I was able to get past this issue by injecting ATI on my config.plist. Though I have the RX460. When not injecting ATI, I am not able to get to login screen when hdmi cable is connected to the RX460. I can reach my desktop with no issues though if cable is connected to the board but wake from sleep gives me this black screen. With Inject ATI set to true and cable connected to RX460, I have boot to black screen but I have no issues with sleep and wake. It also recognizes the video card's name correctly.
BIOS iGPU set to Primary.

Well, I've managed to make my RX480 work, but when I'm in preloading screens(bios, clover etc) I have to use the onboard graphics card. I can't switch between the two so I actually leave it like that and I have a black loading screen until I reach the OSX login screen. That's when RX480 kicks in. This was possible since the 10.12.1 update back in december. Now I have 10.12.3 and I'm wondering if mighty apple has introduced a better support for these cards, which should be the case. This has already come a long way in this foolish state.

Now I'm wondering if I can go into bios and boot up with the dedicated graphics card without any issues or what other config should I do to make it work.
