for sure what i am looking at is a Lenovo Z50 but not Z50 - 70 and its an i7 8gb, nvidia gt 860 and an Hp 840 G3

A Z50 with an Intel processor IS a Z50-70...

This guide is for Haswell Z50-70, not Skylake.
