[Guide] Acer aspire 5755G/5750G El Capitan UEFI Clover

Not open for further replies.
After several trials and many times reformatting the HDD and starting over, I have 10.11 working on my Acer 5750, but still there are two issues:
1- I can't boot without the USB, I tried many times to re-install the system from 0, checked many solutions, the fakeSMC and other files are in EFI partition. I tried multibeast and clover many times but no change.
2- This is not a big issue as I use monitor through HDMI but better to solve it. The laptop screen split into 4 parts.

My system is i5 2430M, Intel HD3000, 8GB memory, Samsung BX2331 via HDMI, Logitech USB mouse and keyboard

(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

Mobo: manufacturer/model + bootloader(Clover/Chameleon/Chimera)
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
Mobo: HP ProBook 4540s (Clover)
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

Note: When specifying your bootloader, if using Clover legacy, please be sure to specify "Clover legacy"). Specifying "Clover" will be assumed as "Clover UEFI"

To boot from HDD, you must install Clover to your HDD... and configure it for your hardware (as you did on USB).

See guide: http://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/

Note that the guide in post #1 is very incomplete and not very clear at all. For example, it refers to 'main 5755 kext.zip' and then it is not provided in the attachments. Seems quite untested... You might want to ignore it.

Well, this post is not my only source/guid.

Anyway, I used Clover installer, several times, copied the files to the EFI partition manually. but everytime I boot without the USB I get:
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting Broadcom PXE Rom
No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key

You may need to add a UEFI entry for Clover (with efibootmgr in Linux). See post #2 of the guide previously linked.

Ciao,
i installed macOS Sierra on my aspire 5750G. All works fine. Also the sleep state works correctly after the patching of the dsdt.aml i performed following the indication of RehabMan! The unique issue i yet have the internal microfono that does't work. Into the inpot tab of the audio system setup is present only the microfono port. The chip audio should be ALC269. In order to use Siri i need to solve this problem. Is there solution to fix this iissue?

Antonio

Look for patched AppleHDA components that support your internal mic.
