Filled out the profile and enclosing "Problem reporting" data. Thanks.

Your config.plist is wrong. Read post #1, "Final config.plist".

Note: You forgot ioreg (this time I didn't need it to pinpoint the problem since it is obvious you're not using the config.plist from the guide).

Thank you RehabMan for the quick response! Didn't realize there was yet another config.plist, I had copied the install one previously.

Upon copying the final config.plist, sound is now working beautifully :), line-in, line-out and headphone are all available, though I have one tried line-out so far.

I have another question, even though bluetooth is working and I can use trackpad and keyboard, I believe it relies of some bluetooth firmware downloaded previously by windows and bluetooth functionality will go away one I pull the power.

I have left a 75 GB partition available for Windows install (so I can enable bluetooth again if needed). Can you please point me to a good guide on how to install Windows on a clover hackintosh install. I have not been very successful in doing this so far. Thanks.

Intel Bluetooth is not well supported. You should probably use a USB BT... Personally, I don't need bluetooth, so not planning to look into it. BrcmPatchRAM kexts are already installed should it support the device you use.

There is important dual boot info in post #2 of the main Clover laptop guide. It applies here too...

What USB Bluetooth dongle would you recommend for the Skull Canyon.

On the audio side, I have tested line-out and headphone out and they are both working fine. However, I do hear some fairly loud pops once in a while, especially when starting a youtube video.

I have no recommendation (I don't need bluetooth on a desktop computer), so you should look at the Buyer's Guide.

Maybe patching with a different patch_codec id would help...
What version though?

I have no clue regarding version of patch_codec. Remember you are talking to a mac newbie :)
How do I find out what version I am using?

You don't know which version of OS X or macOS you're running?

MacOS sure, it is 10.11.6. I though you meant codec version.

FYI: 10.11.6 is OS X (only 10.12 is referred to as macOS).

Currently AppleHDA supported codec 0x10ec0262 is patched (hence, the patch_codec) for the target codec (codec used by the NUC SC) 0x10ec0233.

It is possible to choose any supported codec as the patch_codec. For example another common one would be 0x11d41984. Or 0x11d4198b. Depending on which codec you decide to patch changes the behavior and also the patches you need to make it work (as the patches you need depend on the numeric relationship between the patch_codec and the target_codec).

I have my own version of bcc9's patch_hda.pl script that has been updated for 10.12 (among other things) that can create the patches required for different patch_codec/target_codec combinations. It is certainly something I can experiment with eventually, especially if I start using this as my main computer (not until later in the fall).

Thanks for the quick tutorial! Even though I would like to, I dare not experiment on my own... I will wait for updates from you :)
BTW, the systems sound effects were messed up too, until I rebuilt the cache, now they are good.

Another thing I would like to mention, probably related to power management/acpi, is when I play a Video full screen (usually youtube, but I have seen it with quicktime & vlc also), occasionally the screen will lock within a few seconds and I will be prompted to enter password. I can prevent this by slowly moving the mouse. I have experimented with sleep and power settings but to no avail.
