I'm mostly just experimenting to see what happens. Thanks for the tip. Should I use the combo update for 11.5 or just update via Software update ? Or do I need to completely remake the Enoch USB with 10.11.5 ?

Updated this AM with the 10.11.5 combo update. Shut down and then rebooted from Enoch installer to finish the install. Deleted the AppleHPET kext from /S/L/E then restarted again and everything seems to be working.

Next goal is to get the HDMI audio working. Wish me luck.

Hi

I have inherited a HP ELite 8100 and this is my third hackintosh build.
the guide is excellent and I like the level of detail here :)

My install goes fine, but I have a problem at first boot from my HDD (non SSD).

boot0af: error

I also tried the boot0ss option but this also gives an error.
I searched the error on the forum, and some suggestions are to use a boot1h file. I tried this also but I may have put it in an incorrect place (I dd copied it to the /dev/disk device that the EFI is on), as I still got a boot0af error.

Any suggestions?
thanks

Machine Spec:
HP Elite 8100
i5 650
Sapphire Radeon HD 5450 512MB (appears as 6xxx in "About this mac")
Seagate Desktop HDD ST1000DM003 1TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5"

Easiest thing to do is try another HDD. The older the better. Doesn't have to be large or
expensive to use as the OS X boot drive. These are ultra low budget systems so why not ?

Just like to give some props for this guide.
It is very clear, it is appropriately detailed, and I have a fully operational HP Elite 8100 machine.
I used VooDooHDA 2.8.8 for the audio, working perfectly.

Thank You!

(initially an issue with the previous drive, as posted)

So this hide worked perfectly fine for you? On the 8100 model?

Can people please let me know if this guide works for you with different models so I can update this guide. I can't afford to buy all the elite models it would nice if I could.

Yes. There were no alterations, and the BIOS is identical in appearance and in version.
Only tiny thing I did wrong was I had the Graphics Card in the wrong slot for a while until I sussed there was another full length slot.
Mine is the Small Form Factor also, so looks identical to your images.

Okay that's sweet :). I shall update this guide when I have time I'm currently at work. So it'll be later.

I have successfully installed El Capitan on a HP DC7800 using this guide and other files, then updating first to 10.11.5 then to 10.11.6 when it came out. After each update boot from install usb, let the update continue, and remove AppleHPET.kext from S/L/E.
