[Guide] Booting the OS X installer on LAPTOPS with Clover

So, I let it spin for 45 minutes. And it still remained the same. Before the logo it gave me the line: service exited with abnormal code:255. It hanged in there for few minutes.

I've attached both the verbose mode image and the clover folder without themes. I did not understand what did you mean by press f4 before collecting the data.

By press F4, I mean press F4 at the main Clover screen. Clover will write all native ACPI files to ACPI/origin.

But your problem is obvious...

EFI/Clover/kexts/Other is wrong.

For some reason the FakeSMC.kext there is just a directory that contains FakeSMC.kext. You will see if you rename it to something other than .kext or use right-click Show Contents. It is also not the version linked from my guide. Same thing with VoodooPS2Controller.kext.

You must place the actual kexts into EFI/Clover/kexts/Other, not directories that contain kexts...

Where is the kext files? I went to your link. Downloaded the zip and it yielded the folders that I've attached. Should I place this files in kext folder?Screenshot 2016-06-14 14.21.03.pngScreenshot 2016-06-14 14.21.43.pngScreenshot 2016-06-14 14.21.59.png

In the guide you said that just copy and paste will work. But in the readme file it says that to use Kext Wizard to install kexts. Am I reading it right? Having a hard time to understand the readme file.

I've downloaded the kexts from the following link: https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-fakesmc-kozlek/downloads

Copy pasted it from there.

When you are copying kexts to EFI/Clover/kexts/Other, you are not "installing them". That comes later after installation of OS X.

So when preparing to boot from USB with Clover I've to install the kexts using kext wizard to S/L/E folder, right?

No. You copy them to EFI/Clover/kexts/Other. It is quite clear in post #1.

Yes, this is what I did. I went to the link you provided. Then scrolled down to read the readme file. Went to this link: https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-fakesmc-kozlek/downloads and unzipped the folder. Placed the folder named FakeSMC.kext to Others folder.

Ooops, this is a folder. Do I need to copy from this directory: FakeSMC.kext\Contents\MacOS and the file which named FakeSMC? It does not have any .kext extension by the way.

Kexts are folders, but when you use Finder they are treated like files. Copy the kext to EFI/Clover/kexts/Other.
