Hi, I have the XPS 13 with UHD display.

I was wondering if you could give me advice on the best method to get OS X to work. I read through the thread but I don't understand all of it and don't really know which of the posts is a working solution for my laptop. Do you think I should apply the patch or change the variable in the Bios?

So far I have only disabled C states, virtualization and secure boot in the bios. I was running Ubuntu Gnome before.

Follow the Clover guide linked from the FAQ.

Pay attention the Broadwell info in the FAQ. It is important.

Pay attention also to the info on UHD/QHD+ screens in the FAQ.

What tool can I use to save a copy of the BIOS on to my desktop? I tried to find a download link for universal bios extractor 2.0 but didn't find a reliable source. Is there any tool you can recommend?

There are several links you can follow from the FAQ that should lead you to a solution.

When I did it, I extracted from a BIOS update .EXE provided by the OEM.

I followed the guide and made the USB stick with the EFI Shell. However, I can't get the laptop to boot from the USB. I went into the bios and added the USB/bootx64.efi to the boot options, but when the computer restarts it says no boot device found.

Per UEFI spec, BOOTX64.EFI must be at \EFI\BOOT\BOOTX64.EFI on the stick.

Thank you so much, I must have overlooked that!

Do you think I should use 96MB or 128MB, considering I have the QHD version of the XPS 13 (3200x1800)? I've read around in forums and people seem to be using 96MB mostly, but all the examples I saw had the 1920x1080 version.

Try 64mb first. 96mb/128mb seems to be more of a Haswell UHD requirement, not Broadwell.

Hi,
This is my second try at hackintoshing! My first went kinda well on my OLD Dell Inspiron 1st gen intel i3. The only problem was the display was all stretched and I couldn't find any proper kexts for that. :( And the WiFi wasn't working. That could be fixed by an external one :D

So anyways,
I bought a new Lenovo Idepad 100
-Intel 5th Gen -5200u 2.2ghz
-Intel HD Graphics 5500
-6gb RAM

So my question was, my DVMT in the control panel says 128mb, so am I good to start step 3, or do i need to change it to 96mb? I read the other replies, I didn't really understand what to do. Please help out this n00b :p

Oh yea, and I was also wondering if there was way to get El Capitan with these specs?
Thanks! Any help would be appreciated!
