Is there a hope that WLAN will be supported in the future?

I wouldn't hold your breath. Someone in one of the posts in this thread said they were working on a driver (I think based on porting a Linux driver to OS X), but I don't know of any other drivers that person has delivered, and they seem to have gone dark anyway.

Best best is either one of the MYHE models where you can put in your own wireless card, or use a USB wireless adapter. You can narrowly cram a small USB adapter into the interior of a RYH model using a $5 adapter cable, but you'll get better signal just using it like normal on one of the outside ports.

I'm running El Cap 10.11.2 (as per ammulder's excellent guide) along with toleda's audio patch which turns on the front audio port. Everything's been working fine until this snag with the DAC. I can't figure out whether there's some sort of corruption with the USB driver or the audio patch after a system update? I started with 10.11.1. I'm certain the problem's in OS X somewhere because under Win10 (which I dual boot to) the DAC performs like a trooper.

I haven't tried a USB DAC, and this kind of behavior is new to me.

Just to be clear, you should have no dependence at all on the audio patch. It doesn't matter whether your front headphone jack is working if you're using a USB audio adapter.

But USB has certainly changed over the course of the El Capitan releases.

Are you using a vendor driver for the DAC or does it work without one?

Do you know whether it's trying to make a USB2 or USB3 connection?

OK, I'm trying a USB DAC now on the 5i7RYH with 10.11.2 and just based on a few minutes, it seems to be working fine. Mine does not require drivers. I'll leave it on for a while and make sure it's still working later.

Edit: Many hours later, still working. So I don't seem to have the same issue. I have one more DAC I can try to be sure, but I'll only update again if that one breaks.

I'm using a very cheap USB dac for my audio out and mic in on my hackintosh nuc (10.11.2) and I have noticed very rare audio dropouts that require a restart to fix, but it's only about once/week. This dac works in OSX without drivers, system reports it as a c-media audio device.

Someone else asked about which version of OSX to create your Unibeast USB with -- I started right with the 10.11.2 package from the app store and had no problems.

Hello,

i testing today to install el Capitan on my NUC5I7RYH with Samsung SSD 850 EVO (Basic no M.2 SSD) and Crucial Ballistix 16GB DDR3 Kit.

Create the USB Stick, Download all Files and booting runs fine.

But chosse the language, the screen comes zu choose the drive. here only i can see the USB Drive, not the SSD.

I check 2times my BIOS Settings (350). I think all is fine. On Devices i see the Samsung SSD.
Have i to nee format the SSD befor or somthing?

sorry for my bad english :(

Greeting
Chris

Hello, I really need your help. I try to install OSX 10.11 on my NUC5i5RYH.
The Nuc has 8 GB RAM (2*4GB) and a Intel SATA SSD with 120 GB build in. So far so good.
I had 10.10.2 installed month ago working. But now on a complete new installation with clean SSD
I do not even get to the Installer. Are there any boot options, which I need to set, this is not clear
shown in the guide. I am sure all my Bios sets are correct. The install stick is build on my other OSX 10.11
Hackingtosch according to the guide. i build in the NUC into an old iMac G4 17" according to dremelguide,
the Monitor is attached to the display port using a display port DVI adapter, which works perfect connected to my Macbook.

Attached you can see the booting process on two pics, last massage is: Missing Bluetooth Controller, and then it always
stocks in a "DEAD END" sign as it can be seen on picture two.

Thanks for your help

The last line when the prohibited sign shows is "Still waiting for root device". This means that OS X doesn't recognize the USB drive that the installer is on. I haven't seen that with a NUC before, but the usual workarounds are to try different USB ports or to try different USB sticks (preferably a USB2 one if you have problems with a USB3 one).

If you re-used an install drive that you set up for a different machine, it's possible that it has USB settings on it that conflict with the USB configuration of the NUC. If that's the case you may want to re-create the installer with UniBeast and just follow the first post closely.
