Hi.

Does it work with jmicron? I can remember that the old release worked with jmicron in yosemite. I have a fatal1ty P67 and the usb2 work but usb3 are showed but doesn't work.

I have no hardware with a Jmicron XHCI controller, and don't recall any reports regarding it.

Try it and report back.

I did a fresh install of ElCap and decided to try this kext. I have a Serie 8 board. When I use this kext my usb ports do not work. What works is when I useFakePCIID.kext and FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext but then only the intel ports work. Can I use genericusb kext together with FakePCIID.kext and FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext? Thanks

GenericUSBXHCI.kext should be used only for XCHI controllers that are not supported natively.

I'm lost with your answer without the fakepciid kexts, only a few ports work and only at very low speed. With the kexts all the intel ports work at usb 2.0/3.0 speeds but the non intel still do not work.
So if I use the genericusb kexts together with fakepciid; will the non intel ports work at 2.0/3.0 speed?

X79 does not have Intel USB3.

Any 3rd party XHCI controller enabled by GenericUSBXHCI.kext will not show in System Information.

I understand.

So the true is that despite they do not show in System Information, they are actually working (detected, connected)





Is there any way to actually check whether their transfer speed matches the USB 3 standard?

My USB3 Ports are working thanks to this kext! No Kernel, no problems. Smooth install!

They do not show in System Information but work perfectly.
