Hello guys!

I've been trying to install El Capitan with my GA X79-UD5, i7 3820 3.6 GHz, GTX-660Ti with a new SSD but can't get to the installer.

El Capitan 10.11.1
Unibeast 6.1.1

First I made my unibeast on UEFI, but it didn't work so I changed it to legacy. After that I could boot into Clover but now I am stucked.

Here is a screenshot in only verbose: IMG_3491.JPG

I have been trying with:
nv disable=1
nv disable=1 and ncpi=0*2000
ncpi=0*2000
ncpi=0*3000 nv disable=1

Has it to with legacy and boot settings, or is my motherboard too old for El Cap?

Thx!

UEFI clover won't work if you're bios setting is on Legacy & UEFI. YOu might want to set you bios (if you can) to only UEFI and try that. Also make sure you safe boot, vt-D & CFG lock are all disabled. And only use a USB 2.0 port

also boot flag should be npci=0x2000 (case sensitive. Don't think * will work)

also try in safe mode (-x)

ill see see what I can do to help

Here is what my BIOS look like.1.JPG2.JPG

vt-D is disabled
CFG I can't see if I have that.
Since i made Unibeast in Legacy I can't boot if I turn off Legacy USB support. So it was enabled when i tried in safe mode (-x) with ncpi=0*2000.
It looked like this 3.JPG

Thank you for your help!

I wouldn't have thought you needed a legacy install on an X79, though don't have one myself so I'm not positive. It might be worth trying again with the UEFI install and troubleshooting that.

In the mean time, the asterisks in the npci were almost certainly the problem with the hang at PCI Configuration Begin -- those should be the letter x not an *. Also nv_disable requires an underscore between "nv" and "disable". I don't think safe mode gets you anything, so I would start with getting your boot flags right. Try:

Code:
dart=0 nv_disable=1 npci=0x2000

and if that doesn't work,

Code:
dart=0 nv_disable=1 npci=0x3000

and see if that gets you past PCI Configuration Begin at least. You might also need cpus=1 but I'd try without it first.

Haha! Yes u are totally right about the asterisks. I will try and see if it works the proper way.

About Uefi and legacy. I made a unibeast first with UEFI but then I could not boot to clover at all. Instead a black screen came up and said "Reboot and select a proper Boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key"

I'll investigate more. Thank you!

Hi all! I could not manage to install El Capitan on my GA X79-UD5. If someone has done it please respond.

Anyhow I made a successful Yosemite installation. If someone wants me to write a guide I can do it.

Peace!

I can read "PCI Configuration begin". Old illness solved in 10.6.8. So HOW DID YOU get past that here? What did you change?

- strange mouse behaviour? please specify!

- if you have no sound, check your sound driver options, see what multibeast offers! there must be conflicts, or missing drivers, or wrong drivers.

I can't install in my GA X79 UD5.

I have today the version 10.9.5 (Mavericks) working very fine. But now, in version 10.11, no success to install.

I tried many options, nothing...

I have 2 USB installers, one for 10.9.5 and other for 10.11. The first works ok, but with 10.11 I can't install, a message error in loop "AppleUSBHostController"...

I don't know what to do :banghead:
