I Fixed GPU too YAY!, but something happened after clover configurator... i was booting without Verbose now if i try to remove verbose the apple logo shows up and changes to something like a Prohibition Plates (/)

I had the same problem the first time i prepared the USB stick...it was due to a wrong copy and paste of the command..try to paste in this way:

sudo perl -pi -e 's|\x74\x11\x83\xF8\x3C|\x74\x11\x83\xF8\x3F|g'/Volumes/USB/System/Library/Kernels/kernel

Hmmm...did the kernel patching take a very long time for anybody? just so I know when to give up and try something else.

Hi rbbunmc...Finally i had all the components and installed the system but there are 2 points that need explanation...
1) In BIOS in Key Management i deleted the default Key but i've still "Platform Key PK state" loaded....
2) at section 8 step 3 after boot in Clover USB i select boot from Yosemite but system restart everytime it reaches PCI configuration start...no way to boot in Yosemite even if I add -v and -f flag....system reboot every time it reaches pci configuration etc...
what is wrong?

Again. On the kernel patching. As of 10.10.5 you need to search for the particular patch for your system it appears. I have a 5960x which requires its own unique patch separate from all other Haswell system patches. Clover can patch on the fly by selecting KernelHaswellE and KernelPM in clover if that is easier.

1) Thats crazy. You select other OS and save?
2) Did you turn off the sataplug or whatever it is I mentioned in bios? Thats the root cause of that. The other is kernel patch didn't apply and is remedied with debug=0x14e until its correctly patched. I think you require a different kernel patch or can do it in clover as I mentioned above for everybody.

Hi, can we talk please?

Whenever you like, just let me know details

No its instant. It might be you did a copy and paste but when you did copy you went slightly past last letter and got some space. Sometimes this can put you into constant memory load. Otherwise read above (top of this message) about finding your correct kernel patch since it is no longer as forgiving as of 10.10.5. 5960x patch might not beusable and require haswell patch or patching in cloverconfigurator.

See all other posts in this message, similar problem/solution. Also try repairing permissions or trying different aptiofixdrv-64 file. This is another major incompatibility issue in 10.10.5 and el capitan.

FYI, there are no specific patches for various X99 CPU's. The KernelHaswellE patch and stigna's script just removes the CPU check function, it doesn't care what the CPU is...

Also, if you want to play, the El Cap GM requires NO kernel patch for x99, this could change in the final release but unlikely.

EDIT: I can't prove this but it appears that version 10.10.2 apple included native support for processors Haswell-E. I know I don't patch my 10.10.5 install.

@rbbunmc:

Do you get to see Titan X listed as Titan X in ur "About this Mac" - Displays or in System Report??? I only see it as Nvidia Graphics Device 12287 MB. I am on 10.10.2 though. Wondering if its the reason.

Thanks in advance.

You are correct. It is not the case for 8 core 5960x though. It is not yet supported in Osx although I wish it were. I get constant reboot of el capitan whether I try to install on the drive (cant reach installer) or transfer whole ssd to my true mac for install and swap back in. Followed everything perfectly, havent found a successful 5960x build on el capitan.

What installer? Do you run Clover? I'll send a PM... It wasn't long ago I saw multiple post that said I haven't found a successful install of Yosemite... I'm not recommending El Cap, just a play thing for now...

1) Of course i selected other OS....My bios version is 1201, maybe is it different from yours?
2) I applied kernel patch in Unibeast USB as you describe in the guide, and after the command it returns with cursor and with no error message. So i must add debug=0x14e into command line when i reach clover GUI? I remember i disabled sataplug etc. but anyway i will check again tonight.
Thanks for your help and for your patience.

PS my configuration is like yours except graphic card (mine is a GTX 960). I'm using as boot drive an SM951 and thunderbolt card is not attached to the mobo...so it should work...

EDIT: I added debug=0x14e at command line but this time the system instead of reboot hangs at pic configuration begin.....I paste a picture
