Thanks.....
regrettably I have to return the laptop.... it seems to have suffered a trackpad failure.... doesnt work in osx, windows or linux, doesnt work in OEM full factory reset..........:( resetting to factory defaults, wiping everything and reinstalling the useless factory 800mhz 4gb RAM.................

will be back soon hopefully recovered or with a new setup........

They are separate. You can use both.
I noticed when I have the brightness slider and it works, the computer seems to become very slow, boot time takes longer (about 2min) and generally becomes laggy... is there a fix for this? currently i have not installed the brightness fix as its very annoyingly slow...

Post ioreg: http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/58368-guide-how-make-copy-ioreg.html. Please, use the IORegistryExplorer v2.1 attached to the post! DO NOT reply with an ioreg from any other version of IORegistryExplorer.app.

So I made a bit of a mess and decided to reinstall using 10.10.4 clover disc.... went smooth and no issues, however, the strangest thing (and good) was that the brightness was working OOB, didnt need to install kext or anything, noticed this when i was in system preferences getting things set up the way i like them...

disc?

Not really. Although it works without ACPIBacklight.kext (due to ACPI patch), it will not be full range as AppleBacklight.kext doesn't know about your specific panel. Also, no smooth transitions between levels (most noticed when using the keyboard to adjust).

Three choices:
- patch AppleBacklight.kext/Info.plist to add panel data
- build injector kext to augment AppleBacklight.kext data
- use ACPIBacklight.kext

More details are linked from my backlight patch in the DSDT patch repo. At that link, you'll find a script that patches AppleBacklight and creates an injector (use only one solution/result). Note that the data used by the script is for Ivy/Sandy (HD3000/HD4000) and would need changes for Haswell (Haswell uses 0-0xad9, vs. 0-0x710).

disc=clover USB OSX Installer Disc using terminal instal disc creator....

I'll look into the backlight control, thanks for the tip!

I do however have issues with power management, whenever i try to make an ssdt using the ssdtGenPR script and place the generated ssdt in clover acpi folder, it crashes the install, and removing the ssdt doesnt fix this, infact it freezes during boot... hence why i had to reinstall. this has happened three times.... followed the guide very very carefully but still no love....

If you're referring to a USB 'stick'... not a disc. The term 'disc' implies optical media such as DVD/CD/Bluray.

No idea without seeing resultant EFI/Clover folder, and photo of panic/verbose boot.

If you add it then remove it, wouldn't you be back to where you started?
