No Audio Devices - Realtek ALC AppleHDA [Guide]

Status
Not open for further replies.

I've tried restoring the same options that worked previously using Multibeast 7.0 (namely ALC887/888b Current & Audio ID 2), but this no longer resolves my no audio input devices problem. Something is broken that needs to be undone (e.g. HDA kext no longer readable) and I am unsure how to go about this short of reinstalling everything....

OK, so this is my follow-up. So I reinstalled Yosemite today and got everything working peachy keen, even solved the audio drop out after sleep, and then out of the blue I lost all audio output devices. Reset the codec, but don’t seem to have any anymore (as evidenced by my previous attachments, they were there prior to the reinstall)...? Here is the information requested:

1. As described above
2. OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 / ASUS Z97M-PLUS / BIOS version 2604 / i7 4790 (3.6 GHz) / ASUS GeForce GTX 650 Ti
3. Unibeast Yosemite install, Multi-Beast post-installation (ALC887/888b Current v100302 w/Audio ID=2). Used toleda’s troubleshooting guide in this thread.
4. See attached ("ioreg.ioreg")
5. See attached ("AppleHDA.kext")
6. N/A
7. Couldn't find any kernel sound assertions?
8. See attached ("DPCI_manager.png" & "System_info.png")
9. N/A
10. See attached ("org.chameleon.Boot.plist" & "DPCIManager_boot_log.txt")

Needless to say, advice and direction on what to do next would be most appreciated :)

Audio never worked without booting the installer.
See Post #1:
I. No Output Devices Found

  1. 10.10 and newer/Boot flags
  2. Chimera/Chameleon/Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist
    1. Mandatory Add: Kernel Flags/kext-dev-mode=1
      • MultiBeast 7.0 and newer/Drivers/Customize/Boot Options/Kext Dev Mode

So strange that dev mode had disappeared from the plist! Perhaps when I tried to reinstall the ALCxxx it got removed somehow? Because I double-checked and it was enabled in my two saved Multibeast configurations. At any rate, I just re-ran the whole kit and kaboodle and everything works fine again. Thank goodness it wasn't my motherboard!

Removing IGPEnabler, HDAEnabler and HDEFLayoutID only mangled the video output (HDMI).

realtekALC-100 log:

Is MultiBeast/AppleHDA installed?
Two methods installed on top of each other always fails.
What are you trying to do?

Removing IGPEnabler disables graphics
Removing HDAEnablerdisables audio

Wow, thanks for the fast reply.

realtekALC-100 log:

- As of yesterday, following the methods in your guides, when I ran the audio_realtekALC-100 shell, it was native. However there was no audio IO devices. Only after following all of your guides did it become-not native.

So I'll reinstall the original, native AppleHDA.kext using KextBeast, delete HDAEnable1.kext, reboot, then run MultiBeast, reboot yet again and post the results here. Stop me if I'm wrong.

Is MultiBeast/AppleHDA installed?
Two methods installed on top of each other always fails.
- I've only used Multicast since the original build/installation which never resulted in an audio device being found.

What are you trying to do?
- Eat cupcakes during a three-way.

- I am aware, however you suggested this in post #6 in this thread: here.

it was native.
suggested this in post #6
The script did not find the native AppleHDA.kext, means what was installed was not native.
See Post #5, note dsdt. Audio and/or graphics injection not required with dsdt edits.
