Might be missing some flags... What flags are you currently using? I have yet to try on my build as all of my parts are in the process of delivery...

I'm stuck on the AppleLegacyRoot USB Legacy matching as well! I'm on an ASRock Z170 board.

I suspect the USB isn't seen in El Capitan so it can't boot off it's own USB drive.

Trying to figure this one out myself as I type...how to get USB injected right?

You guys trying to install 10.11.1 on the new SkyLake Z170 hardware should be aware that there is not complete support yet.

What we know about 10.11.1 so far...

  • OS X Build 15B42
  • Kernel not updated: Darwin 15.0.0
  • Initial support for Intel's 6th Generation Skylake CPUs and 100 Series Chipsets
    • NOTE: Skylake kernel support and 100 Series internal SATA and USB still incomplete

My understanding of the current state of Skylake support is:

Since USB is not working, you have to install to a drive on another machine and then configure it for the Skylake machine and then move it to the Skylake machine. But it can't be an SATA drive because that doesn't work either. A PCIe drive maybe. You won't be able to use either a USB or Bluetooth keyboard or mouse, which pretty much limits you to accessing the Skylake machine via screen sharing. And screen sharing seems to die from 0-10 seconds after login.

Short version: it doesn't work.

I have try with some flag but i still stuck at this line, sometime that freeze just before the end line, on classic screen ( non Verbose) the apple logo appear and progress bar too, and freeze ...

do you think it's a problem of msr on gigabyte ?

It's a problem with 10.11.1. It doesn't have full series 100 support, thus the non working, well everything. 10.11.1 is probably only enough resources to get their new imac working which likely is using some kind of old inferior board that only needed limited support. We likely need to wait for 10.11.2 or something else to get more support in there. Right now it's just not enough.

There is conflicting reports on this at this time. Certainly at present there is insufficient support within OS X to create and run an installation on any brand of Skylake mainboard. OS X kernel extension
kext or driver support for ethernet seems to be another issue that is requiring further work. Early adopters have it tough to begin - once support starts rolling things can improve reasonable quickly.

At present, I would be looking forward to 10.11.2

ok thank for answer, my new M2 samsung will wait for maj :), i will be obliged to work under windows for now on my old SSD :) .
