After a day of frustration with getting ALC892 working i finally managed to get it going. FYI i am no expert, merely the blind leading the blind.

In a clean install of Yosemite i have no audio or audio devices showing in "System preferences/Sound". I went into "/System/Library/Extentions" I Deleted "AppleHDA.kext" "AppleHDA892.kext" "realtekALC.kext". Then i went into /Library/Receipt/ I Deleted "com.tonymacx86.AppleHDA-892.pkg.bom" and "com.tonymacx86.AppleHDA-892.pkg.plist".

I then emptied my trash can, restarted computer then ran MultiBeast - Yosemite 7.0.0 where i installed /Driver/Audio/Realtek ALCxxx/ and checked ALC892. Then click build then click on Install. After Successful install reboot the computer and use the bootflags "kext-dev-mode=1" once back into Yosemite goto /System Preferences/Sound and select internal audio. Bingo you should have sound, at least thats what worked for me, Good luck!

Question for anyone who knows i have <string>kext-dev-mode=1</string> in my "org.chameleon.Boot.plist". Clearly i have typed it in wrong as i am forced to type "kext-dev-mode=1" at boot. How should it be properly formatted?

org.chameleon/Boot.plist/Kernel Flags/kext-dev-mode=1
or MultiBeast 7.0/Customize/Boot Options/Kext Dev Mode

Bingo Toleda!! Thanks very much! I did your "MultiBeast 7.0/Customize/Boot Options/Kext Dev Mode" option and it worked a treat now i don't have to type "kext-dev-mode=1" at boot time!

Much appreciated!

Aw. Thanks. I too had a frustrating day trying to make my audio work, I deleted AppleHDA.kext and RealtekRTL81xx.kext from Extensions folder, reinstalled the stuff from multibeast and my audio works!

I believe in order to format kext-dev-mode=1 properly you need to go into MultiBeast, then click on "Customize" then under "Boot Options" select "Kext Dev Mode". Hope this helps! I will keep you updated on how I do with your guide.

Dude... Bro... I owe you a HUGE thanks. This fixed my audio problems for (from what I can see) good! I thought I would never be able to fix this problem... Hooray for the tonymacx86 community!

By the way, checking Kext Dev Mode in MultiBeast seemed to do the trick for not having to type kext-dev-mode=1 when booting.

Clover, add: config.plist/Boot/Arguments/kext-dev-mode=1

Yes i did just that, thou a neater solution would be to not need this ofc.. (if possible)

nevermind, did some reading into this, its basically a command to disable kext signing which is new in yosemite, and probly will need to be disabled for most/all hackintoshes if u want to alter any kext...
