Hello Everyone,

I have a significant performance loss on my system running Clover. The loss is dramatic, almost 50%! But interestingly enough if the system sleeps, it wakes up at about 90% of Chimera. I guess napping replenishes even computers!!!!

Same system, same install:
Geekbench:
Chimera: 2500 (1 core)/9445 (Multicore)
Clover: 1233/5410
Clover after sleep: 2004/9398

Cibenech:
Chimera:110(1 core) /561 (Multicore)/ 57.08 (OpenGL)
Clover: 59/311/33.12
Clover after sleep: 89/559/53/52

So I've tried different System Profiles (MacPro 3,1; 4,1; 5,1 and iMac 10,1; 11,1; 12,1; 13,1; 14,1; 15,1) Only the MacPro's result in the "sleep" semi-fix.

I've tried manually putting CPU info using Clover Configuration, not benefits.
Tried ACPI fixes: FixHPET nothing

As far as kexts go I am using:
AHCI_3rdParty_SATA.kext
AppleACPIPlatform.kext
AppleHDA.kext
FakeSMC.kext

In S/L/E I have added:
Legacy889HDA.kext
RealtekRTL81xx.kext

I am getting a bit frustrated. Any wisdom on the subject would be much appreciated!

Spos, I had the same problem (as you know) getting 1030/4470, my i7-930 @ 2.80 GHz. What I did is went to everyman site
http://www.everymac.com/systems/by_processor/intel-core-i7-macs.html and picked the closest model.

Now, on iMac11,3 I'm getting 1621/7464, which is what I had on Chimera.

The latest edit attached too. I hope it will make our friend kduvernay happy :) but it didn't do any difference until the spec change. I hope it will work for you too. Good luck!

That's awesome!!! I will try it out and report back.

Thanks!!!

Tried everything here and I still get a bit of performance loss. I wonder if it has something to do with overclocking?
I am over clocking my system somewhat significantly.

I think the problem is something related to the system reading the Bus/QPI Speed correctly.

Check out the images below look at the system hardware overview:
Chimera: System Interconnect Speed: 5.8GT/s (Way better performance)
Clover: Bus Speed: 640Mhz (Poor performance)

I tried all definitions (MacPro 3,1; 5,1 iMac 11,1; 11,3; 13,1) they make no difference.

Anyone has any ideas as to how I can get Clover to detect System Interconnect Speed instead of Bus Speed?

Spos86, Did anybody thought about the 3-channel memory which our MB has? Do you think it's possible that none of Mac models would recognize it as real 3-channel? If true, then the whole system speed would be calculated differently, as the bus speed would multiply by 2 and not by 3 (or even by 1 if the system is read as 1xchannel bus), having a huge difference in the end.
It is just an idea and of course it might be wrong.

FYI: My system too "feels" slower than with Chimera regardless the model-type I choose (tried iMac11 and MacPro4,1). But since I am using different HDD which is obviously slower, I can't tell where these breaks are coming from.

So far I could not figure out how to make Clover to read 3-channlel memory correctly. I tried to set it manually in config.plist, but the slots and channels are still incorrect - there are no BANKs, only DIMMs.
Though according to Clover manual "it is purely cosmetics and does NOT affect the actual performance", I would like to know what does affect the performance then. My understanding is that if it reads incorrectly then it most probably works incorrectly.

Any ideas?

What does your system profiler look like? Does it show the correct banks and memory slots and how much memory in each slot?
