hey there,
I was finally able to install ventura 13.5.2 on my system via Opencore
SMBIOS = imac 27inch 2019
CPU 3.6 i7 9700
GPU RAdeon RX 580
Ram 32Gb

everything seems to work flawlessly yet i feel like there is something weird, i was able to confirm that AppleTV+ doesnt work ( everytime i open a video on the streaming service it just turns off)
Using Hackintool:
VDA Decoder Failed

I found that the solution is something called ( open core legacy patcher ) via AMD Legacy Polaris patcher

but it doenst work at all for my system, I assume due to smbios issue

any ideas what to do?

Your Coffee Lake system and RX580 is natively supported in macOS, so you don’t need to and shouldn’t ever use OpenCore Legacy Patcher.

so why is the VDA Decoder Failed?

so why is the VDA Decoder Failed?

I'm not 100% on this problem, but does it only affect DRM protected videos?

Can you play, say, a standard mp4 file okay?

The answer might be an incomplete SMBIOS or incorrect sys-def.

Post a copy of your Whole EFI folder so we can see exactly what you are using.

Remember to delete/redact your Serial Number from the config.plist before you post a copy here.

This happens on a Mac Pro with RX Graphics too. On my hack VDA also has a failure. Some have managed to fix it though. It is not a Hackintosh specific problem.

let me do that now replaced all the serial numbers with XXXXX

I can play Mp4 files / yet the apple TV+ service opens and when i select an episode, it just turns off
I am inclined to think its incomplete SMBIOS or incorrect sys-def.

it may be worth setting up your intel gpu as "headless" :

I found out the reason was that I didnt allow in the BIOS:
  • IGPU -> Enabled
  • Primary Display Adapter -> dGPU (PEG)
  • Multi-Monitor Mode -> Enabled (if option is present in BIOS)
After that ( i also did some custom overclocking )
it worked perfectly :)
thats for helping find out the minor details :D
